The staff were kind and attentionate except one and unfortunately he was the first man we dealt with at the reception: Peter (grey hair). He tainted our opinion of the hotel with the way he treated us when we arrived.
We arrived around 1PM on Saturday and had written the hotel the day before to request an early check in (instead of 3PM), knowing quite well it could not be possible. We had a kind answer from the hotel saying they would do their best to accommodate us even though they couldn't guarantee.
When we arrived, after a red-eye flight and a 1,5-hour metro ride, Peter was at the reception. After normal names and passport questions, we asked if by any chance the room was ready? Peter's answer was word for word: the check-in is at 3PM. We told him we knew that and that we had written to inquire for the possibility of an earlier check in. Peter repeated very slowing and loud, as if he was speaking to someone slow or someone who didn't speak English (we are Canadian): THE CHECK-IN IS AT 3PM.
In order not to start arguing with the guy who seemed to be doing a solid power trip we asked him when he thought the room would be ready. He told us that we could sit around or go for a walk and call in around 2PM to check if the room was ready. We decide to leave our luggages and walk around the area. When we came back an hour later, I went to him and asked if the room was ready. He told me; sit down and wait. He then went in the backstore and looked at something on his mobile.
