The issues below overshadowed what could have been an otherwise good review. Highly disappointed in the checkin desk staff. We paid extra for the full ocean view room on Expedia. However, what they gave us was a ground floor room facing pool cabañas. When I went back to the check in desk to request the room that I had booked they said we would have to check out next day and spend the day without a room for the entire day if we wanted a full ocean view room. Also our room had a huge mosquito issue that we complained about and house keeping said they fixed it but did seem like they did. Another issue was the jacuzzi in our room didn’t work.

It is a beautiful hotel and the staff is gracious, however bottled water is not provided and the food at the resort is twice what you would expect to pay. Everything is ala crate. The pools close too early and they will try to sell you a time share everyday. Buyer beware

Overall a nice facility, but the staff are not at the same level. Two specific experiences we had: 1. Upon arrival, we simply asked for water. They said you have to go to their market and buy water. Any hotel at this grade would have either water bottle or even nicer ways to serve water with fruits etc to guests upon arrival. 2. We needed a spoon to eat something. At first they said your room (for which we'd paid close to $400 per night) does not include that option! We went to the front desk in person and asked again, and they said, "we make a one-time exception" to give us a spoon. This was one of the most ridiculous things I'd heard over decades of staying at various hotels. Hope the management will read this.

Property is beautiful! Natalia is exceptional and she should hold a training on customer service to all other employees there!! My son and I were at the pool and the server serving the section watched us and did not ask if we would like to order anything althoigh asked everyone else Next, we decided to go to the restaurant and order food, the hostess sat us at a table that was not to be used nor was set, we sat there for 10 minutes until I was able to wave down someone to order but then we just decided to leave Not all guests are created equal at the property and it's just a shame! I will continue to be a guest at palmilla and never come back to this property again Natalia thank you for your kindness!!

The pools were very nice; they are well maintained and heated. There are several pools on the property and plenty of lounge chairs and space. The food, drinks, and service were excellent. We ordered drinks at the pool each day and room service for dinner. My family will definitely be staying here again.

This is a very clean and nice property but there are two major issues: 1- many of their rooms have blocked views, this is not clarified during booking and it’s close to impossible to change rooms without paying hefty fees. They changed ours after and hour of negotiation to another room with bad views 2- the restaurants at property are unbelievably expensive for example $35 burger, etc Other issues the beds are super soft and uncomfortable Others wise the rooms are specious and the property is beautiful
