The Perfect Escape “Piña Colada”
I enjoyed my stay in the short time being there. The view was Great as well must I include a very inviting atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to a friend! Stay was Great! If you’re trying to impress your significant other this is the place to go, even comes with a bottle of wine. Great location, you’re minutes away from the River Walk.

Great location
Quiet and cozy place very close to downtown. Great location.
Nice little out of the way cottage. Very quiet and nice neighborhood. I had problems on my end with communication however that got resolved. Other than parking which is just a minor inconvenience I was glad to find a spot to get away from it all for a night and relax.
The place is comfy, quirky, and just a little off of the beaten path. I loved the visit and hope to come again. It has a lot of character, you need to read the visitors' guides, and don't expect a luxury hotel experience.
Secluded historical house. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Seriously less than 7 minute walk to get to riverwalk. There are some bars with live music and a nice little pizza place a block away. Bring mosquito spray, Texas has some big ones.
I just stayed here a week ago for two nights on a business trip. Joe is very communicative and helpful with any questions, very quick to respond. The instructions for entry were very accurate and checking yourself in was a breeze. The small space is absolutely charming and has everything you could possibly need from towels to cookware. The location is incredible, I am a skateboarder so I really enjoyed being able to step off the property and be exploring downtown within minutes. Short little walk to the south end of the Riverwalk, I made the walk to the end of the Riverwalk and back both evenings and it was a great way to unwind and people watch after a work day. I will be back here.
Wonderful, unique experience in the heart of the historic King William neighborhood. Hidden in the back garden of a large Arts and Crafts era home, the cottage provides a quiet respite from the city that is within a block of the river walk and a few more blocks to the rest of downtown. It has a beautiful rustic simplicity but will be enjoyed more if you aren’t looking for a hotel style stay. For instance the claw foot tub is charming but the shower curtains surrounding it are a little tight and the small hot water heater was only able to sustain 10 minute hot showers during my stay. This might explain the variety of review perspectives. Despite these small inconveniences, this is a very special place worth experiencing if it meets your needs.
This was a great place to attend a conference in the convention center. I had a 15 minute walk to to the conference, so I was able to save on a very expensive parking bill. It was a walk across the street to the southern end of the River Walk. The only discrepancy I had was the parking. I had move my vehicle each day as parking on the street was limited to two hours during the day. There was ample parking a block or two back toward Caesar Chavez. Once found, parking was not a problem. I had a great stay and would love to book again on a future visit.
A hidden gem in the perfect location. We were in town for the Rock N Roll Half Marathon. Staying at Lavanderie gave us a quiet spot all to ourselves within walking distance to everywhere we needed to go. We walked to and from the convention center and hemisfair park as well as to restaurants, markets and even the riverwalk.

There are construction workers working on the property during day time, so keep this in mind if you plan to stay in. We had to change and went out and about because of this, but it worked out well for the trip. Also, we kept tripping the circuit breaker every time we turn on the portable heater or microwave, so that was a bit frustrating. But I was able to cook 3 different meals from the tiny but mighty kitchen. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the charming character of the cottage, proximity to local attractions, and kindness of the hosts who went above and beyond.
The cabin is adorable, and it was clean and right next to the river walk. My only problem was the free parking was only for two hours at a time so I had to stay close by to move my car every two hours.
We were really looking forward to spending my birthday weekend in this special cottage. We received very good directions to the cottage & instructions to get into the property. The cottage was cute and the surrounding garden was pretty. Parking is on the street in front of the house. You can only park there for 2 hours from 7 am-6 pm. Then, you have to move your vehicle. The TV is in an area of a small enclosed porch which has only one semi-comfortable chair. The two of us could not sit and watch TV together comfortably. We left after the first night and did not return (even though we paid for 2 nights) because the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We hurt all over after the 1st night. We stayed elsewhere the 2nd night. We were so disappointed!

The location of the cottage was perfect if you wanted to be go to the Riverwalk. However, the cottage was riddled with roaches and mosquitos. The bed linen and pillows had human and pubic hair all over the place. The curtain above the window unit was stained and looked like it was starting to mold. The plastic wine glasses left looked as though they had been previously used. Dead mosquitos were right next to the dished and cups provided. Also, the windowsills were littered with dead bugs and dust. They were also next to the cutlery and plates are provided. I was so disgusted with the situation that I informed the host that I was leaving and made the 4 hour journey home. I would not recommend anyone stay here due to unsanitary conditions.

First of all, Joe the property manager is highly efficient in communicating check-in and out information.
The cottage is ideally located in downtown San Antonio. I booked it because of the pictures posted depicting a cozy cottage in a wooded area. Unfortunately the cottage is not "cozy." The furniture looks outdated, garage sale, mismatched, college student quality. There are NO wall hangings nor evidence of attempt at decorating of any sort. I was hoping to sit outside with my mom to enjoy the surrounding garden area. Unfortunately there was only a dirty bench, and dried, neglected plants, overgrown foliage, and a hideous palm tree to be seen. Too bad. I was really expecting what I saw in the pictures. Won't be going back.
The cottage is quaint and well supplied for all your needs. Very private and secure with very close access to the river walk. Would definitely stay there again.
The property was close to River Walk...and the down town area...that was the first reason for looking at this place for our stay, from the photos of the property it looked great ...but ounce we got there and actually saw the place it was more than great. The instructions given by owner were easy as to how to enter. Where upon entering were amazed at how beautiful the property was...a bottle of wine left by the owner is the perfect touch to an already Awesome place...it is so comfortable , that you may not want to leave to go sight seeing...but rest assured that your belongings are safe when you do...
This property beats any hotel by the river in my opinion...it is private and comfortable...remarkably clean...it is the perfect place for a couple to stay...to the guys out there , wanting to empress and gain ultimate points with your girl...This place is where you want to stay...so in short ...an Awesome place.
We loved our stay at the Lavanderie. Joe made sure that we had everything we needed. The location is amazing, on a historical neighborhood, close by the Riverwalk, within walking distance to main attractions and Downtown.
We definitely recommend it !
ottima casa dove passare le proprie vacanze a san antonio, vicina al centro e in una zona tranquillissima. Joe, il proprietario, è molto attento alle esigenze del cliente. tornerò sicuramente.
