First the positive: the staff was very pleasant & the room was very clean The negative: the room was very small, just enough room for a bed; there was no mini-fridge or microwave and the closet space was less than 2-feet wide. Having limited mobility, we asked for ground floor room, which we got, but the ice maker was on the 2nd floor with no elevator to get to it. So we had meds that needed to stay "cool" but no ice accessible and no fridge. Bottom line, we quickly realized not 2 Microtels are alike. On our way into Canada we stayed at the one in Plattsburgh, NY and were extremely pleased with the place; Albany, NY: not so much...

Shady people outside, one overworked guy struggling to split a room charge amongst three old geesers, tv remote that would only work from 5ft away and then given a replacement with no battery cover, etc. Just everything was cheap. Bathroom was clean and shower nice, bed clean. So fine, I suppose. But not going back given other options for similar price.
