I checked in late at about 11pm. I immediately smelled a musty odor when I went in the room, but I figured it was the air conditioner as I had just turned it on. After getting situated, I realized the smell was lingering and was the overall smell of the room. Honestly, I should have complained then, but I was tired and had to wake at 5 am, so I figured I would just talk to the front desk person in the morning, which I did. I informed the worker that I wouldn’t be able to handle it until later in the afternoon. He said he would inform the manager. That did not happen. When I tried to handle it, the manager said they could spray air freshener, which was totally unacceptable to me. The room smell had begun to permeate the clothes left behind while I took care of the business I was in town for. The manager said that they didn’t have any other rooms except the “suite”, which was just a regular room with a jacuzzi. She offered the room for an extra $100 dollars. I asked for a discount. She said that was with the discount. I later looked at the cost for that room and found that that wasn’t truthful. They should have given me the room at the normal rate. I was exhausted already from the poor sleep in the moldy room and the long day of business I had so I decided to just pay the $100 and move on. She let me smell the room before I did this, but after I looked closer, it was obvious that the room wasn’t very clean. The toilet had a ring of mold. Also, I was charged 2x.
