If you don’t mind stained carpet and dated furniture, no air conditioning and a very packaged food breakfast, the location and terrace were great for visiting Grand Marais

There was black mold on the vents and fixtures,buss bars plugged into extension cords to supply electric. Room smelled like contact cement, it was from the bed spread.

A quaint hotel that felt like home right on the shoreline in Grand Marais. The staff was fantastic and accommodating. Lovely place to stay!

This property needs major updating our windows open only one of them had a screen no air conditioning stains on the carpeting no hair dryer in my room had to borrow from another guest I will definitely not stay here again until further updating

Perfectly located! Deck area right on the lake was lovely. Lakeside room - view was beautiful. Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff was very nice. Hotel quite rundown. Said please excuse mess due to recent heavy rains…appears to be longstanding issues though. Door to room doesn’t close without strong push or pull to slam into place; stained cork board ceilings; windows don’t stay open; toilet paper roll fell off wall; sink wobbles on stand; both sink and tub very slow drainage; carpet stained; hallway Supply/storage area flooded and left open for all to see for two days - no action seen to clean it up or remove supplies used in rooms; no housekeeper came to our room during our stay. All and all, it was not a bad hotel - it just could use some tender loving care and deserves it.

You get what you pay for. It was pretty average, the front desk staff seemed a little unprofessional. The views were amazing, you are right next to the beach! The TV didn't work, and make sure you use the box fan in the closet because the AC doesn't work either. There were cob webs all around the bathroom, along with a few spiders. Bed was comfortable though

The staff was very nice. The location is great. The continental breakfast was good. The hotel itself is very run down. There is no air conditioning and the room was unbearably hot. The room had a stale, dingy odor. Unfortunately I would not stay here again unless they did some major renovations.

Lots of blemishes in the hallways, windows were very dirty on the outside which is a shame with the lake view, windows were hard to open, bathroom door does not close, shortage of electrical outlets.

The hotel is a little rundown, and the carpets are quite dirty, but my bed, and bedding were impeccably clean! The bathroom and towels were also spotless! This hotel has a great layout, and the views are unmatched. The staff was so sweet. The property has no AC, and needs some overall TLC, but it was great overall. I will stay there again!

The building is old. The tiles are cracked and there’s no frame for the door. The table and chairs in the room were unable to use as they were very wobbly. This is the only hotel I’ve been too that did not have a hairdryer available. When we checked in our bedroom quilt had a large brown stain on the pillow. Grossed us out.
