Typical older motel: small bathroom, small TV. But nice table in room. Nice refrigerator and microwave. Very close to major highway, not freeway. Helpful owners.

Best Cheap Motel, Ever
This is the best cheap motel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot of cheap motels, lol. The owner is a very kind man (with a very sweet cat) who puts a lot of heart into this old motel. The rooms are immaculately clean, all unique, and have a lot of character. It has a homey feel. It's not much to look at from the outside, and we almost didn't stay here, but I'm glad we did.

This is an older property that is being worked on. After a long day on the road all we wanted was a clean quiet air conditioned room. The first room we were given had a faulty A/C unit in it and we were given another room that seemed much fresher and working A/C. All in all not a bad place for road tired travelers.

As the website said, we called ahead when we knew we were going to be late check-ins. Once we got there, check-in was easy and quick. It was a comfortable night's stay!

Inexpensive, handy, easy to find, nice manager who tried to make everything nice for us. The room was musty and cramped. We turned the air conditioner on to clear and cool the room. Two hours later it was still musty and not cool. We called and got the last available room at the AmericInn. The Royal was tired and stained. I didn’t mind the outdated part. I’m sorry for the manager - he tried hard.

I am surprised at the 8+ rating that this motel has on Hotels.com. It's not a bad place, just not worth an 8+ rating. This motel is old, and in fair condition.

Cute and inexpensive place to stay.
This was a cute inexpensive hotel for our trip. We will definitely stay here again when we head to Michigan. It was cute and clean reminded me of hotels that my parents stayed at on their honeymoon. Bed was very comfortable. Owner was very helpful and friendly!

No heat
The room was ok. Very dated and the carpet was pretty dirty. We were not able to figure out how to turn the heat on so we went to the office. Oh they forgot to tell us that the heat was out in that room. No other rooms available so they gave us a space heater to use.
