We had several maintenance issues. At 4 a.m (1st night) we had to call for assistance due to the window heating unit smoldering with a heavy burning plastic smell. Zack did everything he could, but they were at full capacity, and had no room to move us to. He brought us a box fan to put in the window to draw the air out & we could not use the heat (Michigan weather). It was a sleepless night. Our room keys (both) were faulty, and had us making trips to the front desk to be replaced. We witnessed two other clients during our time at the front desk with the same issue. The next day we were moved to a different room which was on the first floor and the sliding patio door had no working lock. It was broken off and removed, so at any time anyone could enter our room from the patio. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working and the caulk in the tub was moldy. The front desk manager (Michelle) was kind and tried to assist but can only refer customers to the corporate office. I did call the corporate office and was immediately shut down and offered no compensation, or apology. They told us there was no compensation since we stayed in the room, even though they were at full capacity and the heater failed at 4 am. We chose this location for their AAA rating, but it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I would not recommend this hotel because the corporate office will not take responsibility. The hotel has many maintenance issues needing to be addressed.
