I stay here most of my travels to Miami. They just really need to wotk on the staffing issue as it's sometimes an inconvenience having the guest call down or walk down to the front desk to collect packages because there's only 1 person on. The mold needs to be addreas well. Out of the 8 times I've been here 5 of the rooms had mold either in the bedroom or bathroom. And multiple times i had to change rooms. Besides those issues the hotel is good and conveniently located to shopping and dining.

Staff were very friendly and let us check in early! They also got us set up with a shuttle to the cruise port. The building is a bit outdated, but if you’re needing stay for a night or two it works perfect. 20-30 minutes to south beach depending on traffic. Less than 10 to the airport.

Fall from past glory
I previously stayed at this hotel about 8 years ago. It use to be my go to hotel for overnight stays when in transit at MIA. However, my recent stay in October this year reveal that the hotel has deteriorated badly over the years and is in serious need of renovations. Firstly I arrived at the hotel shuttle pickup point at MIA and waited for over an hour looking for the familiar Red Roof van. After about an hour wait I called the hotel and was told that they are using the orange van marked Hampton Inn. What? That bus had already circled around 3 times but there are no marks to indicate that it was also picking up Red Roof Inn guest. How would anyone know that? Secondly I went to the front desk to inquire about information about getting food, I was told by a gentleman who did not appear too friendly that there is a food truck in the back. However, when I went there the truck was closed. Thirdly, I checked out about 6:45 am to catch the 7 am airport shuttle but no one was at the front desk for the 15; minutes that I waited. So, I just left the room key at the front desk and took the shuttle to the airport. Obviously, much of these are management issues. Overall the hotel is badly in need of renovations and overhaul of management.

Flight was delayed so we arrived after midnight. No shuttle at that time so we took a taxi (Apparently yellow taxi do not do short runs so the dispatcher got us a "blue" cab @ $15). However, the front desk was manned and check-in went smoothly.

They conveniently do not have cameras inside the buildings and later charge you for “stolen” items but yet don’t have proof you stole them. I was there for two nights, a petite woman that apparently stole the mw and fridge, to then drive directly to the airport. The hotel is old and dirty, pictures are not accurate of hotel conditions. MW and Fridge are not even worth stealing. Area seems safe but still didn’t feel safe. I wasn’t aware they didn’t have cameras, otherwise I would’ve been terrified sleeping or leaving my stuff in my room. Don’t stay here.
