staff on reception no uniforms not that friendly, did not get the type of room that we asked for heating did not work, previous visits were great.will not come back again like living in a dog kennel.in all our travels never ever seen so many dogs. best person at this hotel was Lenny he was the best cannot say the same for the rest.while having breakfast looking out to the reception area was dirty and dusty never seen that before.Very disappointed

Added fees doubled the room cost. $40 for outdoor parking lot in Nanaimo, where even the downtown has free parking. Among food items provided in the Continental breakfast: English muffins and cinnamon raisin bread were stale, instant oatmeal packets were past their date (and a solid mass) and the eggs were the worst eggs I’ve ever had. Old, overcooked, rubbery and tasted awful.

Furniture needs deep cleaning, sofas and carpets are old, stained and stinky. Balconies have spiders ( multiple size and lots in numbers) as if never cleaned. Perfect for Halloween and horror movie shooting

Peaceful Lake
My husband and I spent 2 nights. We were on ground floor and enjoyed the view of the lake and being able to just walk out of our room over to the lake. Room was comfortable and quiet. Everything was there that was needed. Only negative comment would be that the carpet had many stains and could have done with a cleaning. Breakfast was buffet with a well replenished array of food. Waffles, croissants, raisin bread, muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereals. Assortment of juices, tea, coffee. Plenty of outdoor parking. Only 12 minute drive to Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. Staff were friendly and professional. Enjoyed our stay.
