DO NOT STAY HERE. The property is run down, my room looked nothing like the photos. My shower was not cleaned as it had someone else's hair in it (yuck) BUT THE WORST PART. I checked in for a weekend job I was doing, had 15 to take a shower and get to my job at 5pm, noticed condition was not great but had no time, returned exhausted at midnight. Decided to NOT park in the hotel lot as I observed a few shady people lurking around in the lot, not to mention 2 separate cars that looked like the people in them were not guest and were just doing odd things at 12:05 am , on drugs comes to mind. Then exiting elevator on my floor I could hear loud conversations coming from multiple rooms. I walked to the end of the hall and at least 3 rooms had over 5 or 6 separate voices in them at minimum. This included the room next to mine which I had a connecting door with. Very loud , lots of people. I had to get up early for another full day and needed sleep so this was really not ok. I grabbed my stuff and went to front desk and informed him I could not stay here and why. He asked if I did not feel safe, I said I dont feel like this is a hotel, are you housing homeless? he replied no BUT, they get gov debit cards and one will rent a room and several will crash in it. I dont know if this is the case but I would guess it is. I left went to the Hilton where the front desk guy said on that place is in bad shape we get a lot of people coming over . I contacted Red Lion , no refund to bad.

Beginning to show its age, clean, great location
Facility is beginning to show its age. Wall behind toilet had peeling paint, cracked bath tub, wall in bedroom had red splash stains (originally thought was blood, but trying to clean it, I believe now is nail polish). Facility was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect. Parking lot was large enough to handle our F150, and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Several homeless on streets, but had a fun stay.

The staff was. Great. Theey were helpful as they could be. The ac didnt work in the room for 2 days, sliding door only allowed 2 inches to be open, so limited fresh air. Microwave in room was very dirty, left over from last guest. Facilty is an old historical and does have alot of historical pictures . As a whole it could use some modifications. Room door didnt seem very secure at all. Wont stay there again.

The employee was a nice guy (William) however the room was very old and the bathtub had cracks everywhere in the bottom, and there was no drain stopper. We asked for another room and we're told that there were no more rooms. We were supposed to have a king suite, and were given a king room instead (like we wouldn't notice,) the water in the shower was hot then cold then scolding hot then cold

All carpet - halls & rooms, was filthy. Hallways need painting - very grubby looking. Homeless people everywhere, along with drug deals. The first room they sent me to had Hot water running in the bathtub & I couldn't turn off. Went back to desk & they gave me another room. I asked if it had been reported before & he said 'yes', but they couldn't afford the plumber for one room, they were waiting for a bunch of them to need service before calling them.

Musty, crusty, dusty, water damage, people living there full time. It was like a slum. Odors, noise, broken toilet, the whole shabang. What a nightmare. Great location!

Forty years ago I stayed at Red Lions around the country, so I had high expectations. The facility was run down. While clean, the shower had simply been whitewashed (with paint on the chair in the living area). The towels were very thin and small, whereas the pillows on the bed were enormous and heavy. The temperature in the room was not easily controlled and all ice machines were out of order. Very sad.

Old, dingy hotel. Does NOT look like the photos. Homeless in front and inside the building. The room next to me at the end of a dark hallway had door handle and lock removed, but padlocked. Just super creepy, stinky and old. The only reason i didnt leave is because it was late at night.

Building is in poor condition. Bathtub was coated with house paint, which was peeling due to exposure to water. HVAC has only one mode at a time for the entire building. In mid-September, it had been switched to heating mode. The previous guest had left it on high, so room was sweltering. The room's toiletries had a very strong smell, reminiscent of Axe body spray, so the room felt and smelled like a Dj's armpit. The balcony was about 12 inches deep. One staff manages the desk alone so all exterior doors except one are locked. This means that if you park in the back, you then need to walk around most of the building to get in.

Don't Stay At The Red Lion Governor Hotel!
We had a horrible experience. We had 2 rooms, and in one of them, the door mechanism was defective and I got locked out of my room for an hour, with my purse and keys inside, until the maintenance guy could be tracked down. They were aware of the problem as the door had a sticker of the special way to open the door (which didn't work). I had to keep calling the front desk as they didn't follow up to see if the situation had been handled. At night we discovered that the deadbolt was also defective and did not lock. In the other room we had, the bathroom door was hung crooked and did not close. The sliding glass door was loose and at 3 am when I went to close it, the entire heavy glass door fell off and crashed outward onto the balcony railing - on the 8th floor! Through all of this I was treated with condescension by staff, and when I asked to speak to the manager I was told she was in a meeting and couldn't be disturbed. Just a terrible experience. Also the hotel is in disrepair and a lot of things are just janky. I would not recommend the Governor despite its great location.

The staff was lovely, but the room was terrible. There were spiders between the curtains and the windows, the bathtub was dirty, and we only got one bath towel. If you like to torture yourself in the morning have a shower, it goes from ice cold to scolding hot in a matter of seconds no matter where you have the temperature set. I had to jump out of the shower to make sure my feet wouldn’t burn while waiting for it to go back to some sort of reasonable temperature. This hotel is extremely overpriced for what it is

Hotel was really nice in an older neighborhood. Property was really in good shape and the bed was awesome! The train whistle in the early am was a little jarring.
