This was an experience. I thought I would try the Maingate Lakeside Resort out because it was cheaper than the other options but I won't stay there again. Usually I'm not too picky about my hotel because to me it's just a place to sleep while I go about my day. First the Pro's about this property: The bed and pillows were comfortable and the property looks nice upon arrival. It is also reasonably close to Walt Disney World which was why we were in Orlando. The Cons: Check-in was interesting. If you've ever seen Zootopia, there's a really nice sloth that works at the DMV who moves painfully slowly; well, the gentleman that checked me in matched that description perfectly. He was a nice enough guy, but for a little while I thought maybe I was being pranked. It was by far the slowest check-in I've experienced in my life. Add that to the $26 per day resort fee I was not aware of and check in was not the best experience. Another problem we experienced was that upon returning to our room at 9:30pm, there was no hot water for a shower. None. It wasn't even warm. My guess is that was because everyone was doing the same thing we were - getting back from the parks and then taking a shower but, again, I can't remember the last time I had no hot water at a hotel. Another problem we experienced was I had 2 spiders and 2 small beetle-type bugs in my bed that I had to kill as they were scurrying around. Finally, there was a really sketchy guy in the parking lot when we checked out at 3:30am

Stood in line for over 2 hours AFTER being there twice before. Was told we couldn’t check in before 3 then at 4, they told us our room still wasn’t ready. Took our money and refused to give it back! Just by walking inside the building, it was nothing like the pictures and was disgusting!! HIGHLY do NOT recommend to anyone

We had a horrible stay. Waited TWO Hours to check in at 11:30pm. Was given a non working key had to go back and wait for them to finish with a customer to get a new key. Room had mold on the ceiling, water damage to furniture and carpet was filthy. The AC barely worked and building was so run down. A person there was given a key to an occupied room and walked in on people sleeping. Breakfast was canned fruit cocktail, juice, bread & bagels. No cream cheese, only butter, jelly and peanut butter. Will NOT ever stay here again and if I didn’t have a small child that needed sleep, i would have left immediately.

The room was dirty and actually flea infested. My grand kids are all ate up by flees. Pay a resort fee and daily service fee, but they. Act like it's COVID days no room cleaning. It obviously shows. I've stayed in cheap hotels before. This place is the worst. I'll never book it again.

The property is easy to get to, but difficult to navigate with it's weird parking lot barriers. Checking in took quite awhile, it looked like there was meant to be a fast lane for if you booked through Expedia or something similar, but there was only one guy at the time and a line to the door. There's a cool mini golf place next door with a Cicis buffet, lots of other food options nearby. Quiet night, comfy beds. Minimal cable channels. The room had signs of water damage on the furniture and ceilings. The shower was great though.

Bugs in the room. Door would not lock automatically (you have to shove it hard for it to lock). Stains on the bedsheets and walls. Babies crying in the other room at midnight. Truly an awful experience. Just pony up the extra $50 to stay somewhere better.

This was by far the worst experience I ever had. We had to wait two hours in a line with no one willing to communicate with us what is going on just to find out they gave our room away. I called 4 times that day to confirm our flight was arriving late at 11:30 pm, we were there just before midnight, at 2:07 after giving the person in front of us a room they told us they had none left due to a party that didn't check out and that it wasn't their problem.

Nothing like the pictures
The hotel is nothing like the pictures. Is super old and outdated. The carpet was stained, dirty and it smelled like mold. I only stayed for one night. The door and the outside looked bad like if you were staying at the cheapest hotel ever. I checked in late and they gave me a room all the way in the back. I felt so worried walking to my room it felt so isolated on that side on building 6 room 334. I would definitely never return to this place. The bathroom was dirty and full of hair same on the bedsheets, I honestly only stayed because it was late and I was with my disabled brother so I wasn’t going to make a big deal and leave to try to find availability somewhere else. But I wouldn’t recommend it nor come back. The owner needs and should invest in this property.
