The person at reception was efficient but too business-like. This is the hospitality business. Employees who interact with the customers should be trained to project warmth. Not over-the-top phoniness, just warmth. The rooms were clean and well-prepared, with ironing board and hair dryer conveniently located, but the rugs were worn and some wallpaper was peeling. The worst problem was the shower handle. The plate that secures the handle to the wall was unscrewed, so the handle was upside down and wobbly. I got it to work, but this should never happen and suggests that the property needs to have a better maintenance inspection regime. The motel was okay for a one night stay, but I wouldn’t choose it for a longer stay.

Older property with great pool and hot tub. Bed was good, small fridge ok, no microwave, good restaurants but quite pricey. Excellent breakfast place 5 min walk away, but again, expensive. 5 min beyond that was a grocery store that had everything. Overall a peaceful stay, if you won't require a Hilton.

I liked it more than my wife did. No table in room. Wife didn’t like sink outside bathroom, very retro I liked it. Hurt my leg getting out bed, steel frame, no box spring. Shower very hard to turn on and either take a shower very early in AM or late afternoon for steady hot water. Love the music from garden area. Pool and especially jacuzzi are wonderful. The description mentions the Reef bar/restaurant but doesn’t mention sancho’s which is in same building as the reef???!!! We enjoyed the food at Sancho’s much more, Sancho’s has paper cover/sleeve on straws, The reef doesn’t….Wife felt Sancho’s more sanitary…drinks at both are great. Staff all around are pleasant. I’ll go back, wife won’t…ahhh…a vacation within a vacation ahead!

Pleasant stay at a quirky motel. I have been coming to Palm Springs for many years and have always wondered about this place. The lobby has a tiki vibe but the rooms, at least mine had a more traditional decor. No dresser to put your clothes, torn carpet a couple of things on ther floor that were not vacuumed up and a very noticeable paint peel on the ewall above the toilet. Definitely can use a facelift and more amenities

Checked in and walked into a dirty room. Had to go back to the front desk twice for it to be cleaned. Also paid for a king and got a double queen. Took a couple of hours to finally get into our room. Tiki bar was great. Rooms were dated. I enjoyed the property other than the rooms.

Pros: Decent clean pool and hot tub. The restaurant attached had good drinks for the pool. The hotel staff was nice and helpful. Location was about a six minute drive to downtown so conveniently located. AC worked well. Seemed safe. Cool retro vibe. Big TV. Quiet atmosphere. Cons: The bathroom window didn’t lock and lead to an alley. We shoved a clothes hanger in it to keep someone from opening it from the outside. There were cobwebs in the bathroom window and shower. The carpet has a lot of stains and wasn’t vacuumed well. There’s been water damage and mold in a couple spots in our room and bathroom. Housekeeping picked our dirty towels up off the bathroom floor and hung them back up instead of supplying new ones. We had to call to get fresh ones. The treadmill doesn’t work and the gym was very hot. Beds and pillows aren’t very comfortable. There wasn’t an iron or ironing board. Probably a cool place at one time but I wouldn’t star again. The price is right but there were better options in the area for similar prices. If our room hadn’t been non refundable we probably would’ve changed locations.
