I will never book with Condado Vanderbilt again. I arranged a 20th wedding anniversary trip and virtually every part of it was bungled by the hotel. The concierge team was virtually useless with the exception of Fransisco - who was great. We had such high hopes going into the trip. They sent me a brochure with different tour options. But it turns out some of those tours weren’t actually available anymore - and they even booked me on the wrong type of tour. I was promised responses and follow ups to try to resolve their mistake l, but they never came. So I kept having to call and email them to try to get answers. The lack of communication was a huge red flag. But, this booking was during the holidays and we couldn’t find a feasible alternative hotel, so we kept this reservation. During our stay, we had a broken phone and coffee maker that were never fixed, it took multiple calls to housekeeping for basics. If you’re planning a vacation and want to actually relax - steer clear of this place.

Ahhhh....
I stayed here a little over 10 years ago, just after the property reopened and wondered what 10 years would have meant. The property is meticulously maintained, which, given the oceanfront location, is saying something. Very clean. Very high standard of service. Most often I'm somewhere that only refreshes the room after three nights - here it is every day plus a turn-down service. (They did miss one day, hence the one star downgrade.) Staff is pointedly friendly and efficient. We went to just be quiet and relax for a few days. We had a balcony room and were able to sit out and watch the water; could hear the ocean at night. Being oceanfront but not beachfront makes your experience of the water very private and very immediate. Walking distance to other good dining options and two walking minutes to the actual beach. Mission accomplished. We will come back.

Refined experience and classic vibe, but property felt a little dated in certain ways. Small main pool and infinity pool open to families could get crowded. Beach area shared with La Concha resort was small with sporadic but helpful service. Pedestal sinks not practical for toiletry storage and no exhaust fan in bathroom made for rather aromatic shared experiences. Would have expected more of a wow factor if it was truly a 5-star resort.

Amazing hotel
Everything was beautiful and clean and the service was top notch (valet, bell boy, help desk, restaurant). The food at Ola was outstanding and I can’t wait to try the other restaurants. The one area for improvement would be to add more hooks in the bathroom to hang towels and a drying rack somewhere in the room for swimsuits.
