Family Christmas Get Away

We took our 3 children and 2 grandchildren to visit Bucks County, PA. A looked at several hotels but this one suited our needs the best.

Almost perfect

This is our 4th hotel in the area. Best hotel overall hands down but we will have to do the two bedrooms next time. The pull out couch mattress was brutal. Everything else was pretty perfect for us!

A very mixed bag

I stayed 3 nights while visiting family over Thanksgiving. The hotel was clean but my room left a bit to be desired. The office chair for the desk had no cushioning and was very uncomfortable. There was a large section of the carpeting that was threadbare and pulled away from the wall (room 134). TV was cable with basic fare - cable news, local channels, a few HBO channels, and basic cable channels such as TNT, History channel, ESPN, etc. The TV was LG, which in my opinion is the best brand out there (your mileage may vary). Breakfast was a mixed bag. Wed & Thu (Thanksgiving) mornings, the breakfast was the worst I've had in any hotel. Scrambled eggs were barely warm and dried out; the breakfast meat was awful; the potatoes were cooked in oil that was not hot enough, therefore the potatoes tasted like the oil. Then on Friday, breakfast was the complete opposite: eggs were hot and moist; the bacon was tasty; the potatoes were crisp and hot and actually tasted very good! So breakfast is a hit-or-miss thing, depending upon who is working that morning. Staff were all pleasant and check-in and check-out were quick and efficient.

The room carpet was discolored (white) at a clearly visible location. Hotel did not offer one free bottle of water (16 oz) to arriving guests. Instead, it charged for this bottle.

This hotel was good ... fine. Clean. Staff was very courteous. Location was convenient. Appreciated that pets are welcome but did not appreciate the unnecessarily high one-time pet fee ($75). Why so high? While I am on the subject of cost, I am perturbed by the fact that hotel rates have skyrocketed since the pandemic while amenities and quality have decreased. Not just at this hotel but all hotels. I like we are all being taken advantage of just to line the profits of hotel corporation shareholders.

We have stayed at the hotel a number of times. We have a great experience each time. The workers and the grounds are always well kept. The only disappointment was that the time of breakfast changed to start at 7am rather than 6 so we had to leave before it began. We will still stay there again in the future.
