Property is fairly new and well kept. Room was very clean. My one complaint is that they use highly scented laundry products. For folks who are sensitive to artificial chemical scents, it’s pretty strong. Other than that, it was a good stay.

The property is fairly new and in good shape. Clean and well maintained. My only complaint is the laundry products they use for linens and towels. The scent is Very Strong. For folks with sensitivity to synthetic chemically scented products it’s a bit overpowering. Please consider using unscented hypoallergenic laundry products.

We arrived after hours for check in. Staff communication was exceptional, mostly with Lori. They are now pet friendly for an extra fee. Second floor room had elevator access and balcony with tiny view of the Cape Fear River. Room was immaculate and appeared new. Beds had mattress topper and were too squishy soft for our bones. Very nice and quiet hotel.

This was a quick overnight getaway for us. This was the first time we had stayed at the River Hotel but we will definitely be back. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. There was beach access and a a nice size pool and deck.

Staff is always very helpful and friendly. Great little beach on the river for fishing and watching ships go to and from Wilmington. Close to ferry and Southport waterfront.

Always stay here when we visit Southport.We are never dissappointed. Rooms are clean....bedding is like sleeping on a cloud! Mini kitchens with stovetop, full fridge and coffee maker with Kcups and creamer. Large clean bathrooms. Always very comfortable and location is on the itracoastal. they have a beautiful pool on the water and a large gathering area with tables and chairs
