We’ll go somewhere else in the gorge next time…

We had a wonderful check-in experience with Hunter, who was very helpful and friendly. However, we were disappointed to learn that the indoor pool and outdoor hot tub were unavailable, as those were one of the main reasons for our stay. Hunter tried to make it right by offering us a refund for the resort fee or complimentary breakfasts, and access to the indoor hot tub and sauna until 6 PM. We quickly changed and headed to the spa, only to be told by a very rude spa manager that the facilities were for spa guests only. Frustrated, I called Hunter to let him know, and he apologized, explaining he was under the impression all guests could use it. He assured us he would address the issue with the spa manager. Later, we decided to sit by the outdoor fire, but the chairs were soaked since it wasn’t under cover. Moving on, we went to the bar for a drink, but service was slow the entire time. Our drinks and water ran out, drinks took a while to get to us and it took a while to get out check. We and other guests asked multiple times to have the football game turned on, but nothing happened, and some people ended up leaving, including us. The next morning, we discovered they don’t offer the buffet-style brunch in the winter, which was disappointing, although the breakfast we had was still good. Overall, we weren’t very happy with our stay, though the bed was incredibly comfortable.

Hunter and Elana at the front desk were amazing! Friendly and knowledgeable. We had Jewel in the restaurant help us with incredible care. The staff at the spa were so nice and extremely helpful. We will be back!!

We have been staying at Skamania for over 15 years and have always enjoyed our stay. We recently stayed over New Year's Eve for my 51st birthday and were sadly not pleased with the pull-out sofa which was extremely uncomfortable and thin. We also ordered several desserts for my birthday through room service and ate in the family room only to discover that the $15 dollar desserts were extremely small and we even received a fruit dessert that we were charged for but never ordered. We will definitely be back to Skamania but the bed and desserts put a damper on the stay. Thank you, Elizabeth and William Wallace

Magical New Year in the tree house

Our recent stay at the hotel was nothing short of magical! We had the incredible opportunity to stay in one of their treehouses, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The cozy charm of the treehouse combined with the breathtaking views made us feel like we had stepped into a fairytale. As a family, we cherished every moment spent together—playing games by the warm glow of the fire, making s’mores, and simply soaking in the serene surroundings. The Christmas decorations were absolutely stunning, adding an extra layer of magic to the entire property. The light walk was a delightful adventure, with twinkling lights guiding us through what felt like an enchanted wonderland. Everything about our stay was perfect. The restaurants served delicious meals, the pool was a hit with everyone, and the service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and thoughtful in every way. We can’t recommend this hotel enough, especially the treehouse experience. It’s a one-of-a-kind stay that will leave you with cherished memories. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and book a stay—you won’t regret it!

This used to be a lovely higher end place to stay. It’s gone downhill and may not be recoverable. They are understaffed. They’ve added cabins, glamping, and treehouses so those I imagine are in better shape than the lodge, but the lodge is in need of updating. Dirty and worn. Plus adding new accommodations but no new or expanded dining causes delays. We waited for 30 min for our dinner reservation to be ready, then it took 1.5 hours to finish our meal after receiving everything.

Loved this location. Dining was a little expensive, wish there was a cheaper option. The staff were lovely, especially the employee working the golf desk. So helpful and so kind. Definitely take a swing at their putt putt, so much fun

The grounds are gorgeous up against a lake. The common area was beautiful and cozy. Restaurants on site were convenient. My food, “crispy brussel sprouts”, were sub par but my family enjoyed their pizza and burger. The room was very clean and the blackout curtain was perfect. Fitness room and pool/hot tubs were great.

Great family getaway

Great place for family... I went for a weekend getaway with my 3 kids and had a fantastic time. Very kid friendly, with a game room and so many activities. My kids were really impressed and loved the ambiance that this lodge provides.
