Good clean room near a station
4 night stay in clean and comfortable hotel. Despite being right next to the elevator we did not hear any noise. Towel change daily and room service available daily if you want, you just need to put the magnet on the door. The surrounding area is a quieter part of Tōkyō but still a sufficient amount of eateries and there was a Lawson, Family Mart and 7-11 on each corner. It is about 1 hour from the airport so on the day we left we caught the train from Okachimachi station (about 10-15 min walk from hotel) and dropped our bags off at Terminal 3 Haneda luggage holding service. 1200 yen for 2 bags. Well worth it so we could enjoy a full day without our bags. As a service the hotel also offers to hold your bags for free but we didn’t want to back track. Staff was very friendly. No need to bring shampoo conditioner and body wash as they have there full size if you’re not picky but I feel it was still good quality. Excellent stay overall as long as you don’t want to be in the main city hub. It’s near a station about 3 minutes away and if you can read signs you can catch the trains pretty easily. I recommend. Book early to get the larger rooms we had a queen bed but there were bigger rooms just sold out when we booked last minute.

I had a wonderful stay at ICI Hotel Ueno Shin Okachimachi. My room was the perfect size for one person, and the bed was quite comfortable. I also had a view of the Skytree, which was totally unexpected. I got to watch the sun rise next to the tower, and then would sit and eat konbini cream puffs while gazing at the lights at night. It was like the perfect introduction to Japan. The location was also excellent. Super close to many different train lines, as well as walking distance to Ameyayokocho and Senseo-ji and Nakamise-dori. The proximity meant I could visit those areas multiple times, seeing them both during daytime and night, which was awesome. The immediate area around the hotel is quieter and more residential, which I also liked. It felt very safe. And right behind the hotel is a covered market area with a nice little sushi stand—great for a snack before bed, haha. What makes this hotel really stand out is the staff. They're all super friendly, attentive, and eager to help. They always greeted me when I went out and came back. Even the cleaning staff would say good morning to me. More than anything, the staff are what made my stay so excellent. The one, single thing that could have improved my stay was if they offered a wash cloth as part of the amenities. Maybe they did in the lobby and I simply missed it? I had to buy one, which wasn't a problem, but still, that's the only negative I can think of. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again!

Great time for 4 nights at the ICI. Clean rooms, spacious and many train stations close by to get all over Tokyo. Friendly and cheerful staff thay even helped me to bring my luggage 6 luggages to the taxi. I recommend the ICI for anyone looking to stay in the Okachimachi area.

accommodations were a bit small but that's part of the Japanese culture & we didn't come to Japan just to stay at a hotel. it was the few reasonably priced hotels in Japan that offered 2separate beds. the staff spoke very good English, professional, friendly & very helpful, especially Mr.Masimoto. the hotel location was ideal for public transit with the subway just 1block away & 1/2mile(1km) within walking distance from the Ueno market district 1/2mile(1km) away

The hotel is close to a lot of other metro stations, and there are quite a few dining options around the vicinity. The area is quiet and comfortable, the staffs are polite and helpful, the rooms albeit a bit small, but cozy and will equipped, and although the power wattage is a bit low. (my friend and I struggled quite a bit when trying to boil some water) The washroom/toilet is actually really nice, with a deep bathtub and pretty good smelling shampoos too lol.

Great base hotel, transport (5mins), shops (2mins) and sightseeing locations are near by (10-30mins walk depending). The rooms are tiny, so a bit of a squeeze but we were out all day and the bed is a good size. Reception was helpful with bag sending service. Beware, the breakfast area is very small, so the food is to be eaten in your room or on the go. Great location.
