Conveniently near local transit stops. Decent rooms. Although the jacuzzi rooms can use some update and maintenance. We were visiting during the football/surfing competitions so the restaurant was a bit busy and understaffed leading to delayed services. Overall it is a decent location farther away from the hustle and bustle of the more crowded boardwalk and ocean view areas. 7/10

The staff is very nice and friendly. Only concern is the room not being clean carpet was filthy and the second day we saw two cockroach the police just need some TLC a little love overall is nice place to go.

So we booked this trip very last minute and wanted to bring our pup with us. Due to those two, options were limited. We booked at the Wyndham and just figured clean rooms were all we really needed. Pros: incredibly affordable and pet friendly. Location is AWESOME north banks was far less crowded than further south. We had no issue finding parking at the hotel. Room was clean, beds were very comfy (soft though if you prefer firm might not like as much). Plenty of room in the room. Staff could not have been friendlier! Asked for extra towels and a do not disturb sign. Signs were back ordered but they let me know when they freshen up so as not to disturb my pup too much and gave me a bunch of extra towels. Cons: it’s an old building. It’s not a ritz Carlton. While the rooms were clean, you could def smell that it used to be a smoking hotel. There was some peeling wallpaper etc. restaurant was decent, but not Michelin star, good basic food. And not everyone cleans up from their pet. But that’s an owner issue. Not a hotel issue. Overall, great for our short trip. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again !

We had a very relaxing time during our stay we also had an excellent view of the ocean Our room was very nice and comfortable the only complaint we had was the air conditioner was a bit noisy if it was on the medium setting so I just turned it to low nd it kept the room very cool we will be staying here again in the future

We (2 50 something adults 2 medium sized dogs) were in VA Beach for a family event. The Wyndham is way north of the boardwalk - literally nothing is walkable from the hotel. But that’s not a criticism, just a FYI! We had an absolutely perfect room facing the ocean, ate and drank at the Grille many times (happy hour 7-11am, YES, PLEASE!). The staff there were really superb, friendly people. Erin. Lisa. Live music (I think every night we were there). A very pleasant overall experience, would recommend.

It wasn't that convenient checking in/checking out having to bring everything, plus a dog, to another building. Upon check-in, the young man behind the desk was not that friendly and not helpful at all about how to get into the other building with all my luggage. He just pointed to the building next door. He could have pointed out a ramp where I could enter and give better directions on how to get to my room. I asked 3 or 4 people along the way for their help.

Get what you pay for
Staff were friendly and nice but service was pretty bad. Towels and toilet paper were not replaced. Rust was all over the bathroom. Rooms were not cleaned.
