"We left a different hotel because of the condition of the room and they couldn’t get us into another room. So we came to Wingate instead, everything was great the staff helped us with everything and we got to check in early without paying an extra fee like the other place charged us. The first room keys we got didn’t work so the front desk staff moved us to another room and did an excellent job of helping us. Definitely will stay here again next time we’re in San Marcos."

"If you like historical architecture and elegance without the extreme modern upgrades, I highly recommend. I always look for a place like The Crystal River Inn when I travel for a unique experience. This is a college town and the streets do get loud with chatter, but I was unbothered by it having lived in NYC for many years. The only ‘quirk’ that might be a bother is the shower head. I am 5’ 3’’ and it was directly in front of my forehead. It needs to be changed as there is a lot of calcium build up, but it got the job done. LOVED the French Press coffee I could make in my room, excellent. An employee named Regina was so kind and helpful, the staff was lovely and the text communication was perfection. "
