Excellent place stay. Rooms were small, but it was built in the 1930s. Fully renovated in 2019 and the hotel is still in excellent shape. Easy walking distance to anywhere in Avalon.

The hotel is beautiful, recently renovated, and centrally located close to everything in town. The rooms, while on the small side, are smartly designed in a space-efficient way and are beautifully decorated. The attention to detail is apparent everywhere in the hotel. We were especially impressed with the welcoming gathering areas in the lobby. The standout detail is the amazing staff. Special shoutout to David, who went *way* above and beyond to get our bags to and from the hotel and pier.

We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. It's clear a lot of thought went into the decor, and the attention to detail is impressive. The rooms were clean, and comfortable, making for a very pleasant stay. One of the standout features of this hotel is its location. It’s within walking distance of all the major attractions, restaurants, and shops, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing or grabbing a bite to eat. However, I was a bit disappointed by the accuracy of the services listed. For example, the website mentioned "If you are arriving via the ferry terminal, there will be a bellman holding a Hotel Atwater sign. They can safely transport your luggage and confirm when it will arrive". We had taken the 4:30pm ferry and arrived at the island around 5:45pm. There was no bellman, had to call the hotel and it was about 10-15 minutes before the bellman arrived and we were told that he has no vehicle to transport the luggage because they use a third party for luggage transfer and not available that late in the day. We had to roll our suitcases ourselves. Neither the website nor the hotel confirmation mentioned that Descanso Beach Club is closed during the winter months. “Personalized concierge” was not available or not operating as expected. It would have been helpful to get more clarity on this before booking. In summary, the hotel itself is fantastic in terms of its aesthetic and location, but I would recommend confirming the services

The hotel lobby is very welcoming and the decor is great. Our room was small and it was not cleaned during our time even though we were gone all day. Coming back to an uncleaned room after exploring all day is discouraging. Soap was empty so amenities weren't checked ahead of our arrival. Phone rang and rang at front desk so no one was bothering to pick up
