Lakefront Cabin & Pontoon

Lakefront Property

The only thing you’ll appreciate more than the scenery is the spacious lakefront yard. Located on a prime section of the lake you’ll have a front row seat to lake life. Enjoy the charm of a large, flat lakefront yard that is tucked into the wooded shoreline of Big Blake Lake creating an oasis for your family. Morning fishing from a private dock, hot summer days out on the lake anchored for swimming, long afternoons of yard games and evening campfires is how your family will make memories on your next lake vacation. The south side of the dock is groomed and set up for launching the kayaks and canoe. The north side of the dock is kept natural for health of the lake and fish, there will be plants growing along the shoreline and in the water. There is no swimming/wadding on the north side of the dock. Lake swimming is best from the pontoon anchored out on the lake however many guests enjoy swimming off the end of the dock where we groom weekly and the swim raft is located.

What is a day at the lake without a boat?

Treat your family to early morning fishing, afternoons out on the lake swimming and sunset boat cruises. We'll have a pontoon gassed up and waiting for you at the dock.

Cabin Life.

Well appointed and fully furnished this clean and spacious cabin has just about everything your family will need for a memorable vacation. Just in case you're worried you'll run out of things to do at the lake the great room is where a pool table, arcade table with 60 games, seating for the group, 50" TV, WiFi and Netflix are located. A fully stocked kitchen makes preparing meals easy and convenient while at the lake. Kitchen amenities include dishes, silverware, pots & pans and small appliances including a toast, microwave, toast oven, coffee maker, griddle, blender, crock pot and hand mixer. 5 bedrooms sleep 12 guests in 4 king and 4 twin beds. A deck and covered patio with seating overlook the lake.

Our summer season runs from the Thursday before Memorial Day through the Thursday after after Labor Day.

Rentals include gas & FREE after 5 days no matter how long you stay!
A one day rental runs from sun up to sun down on the day of your choice. Pontoons cannot be driven in the dark.
Tax is added to all rentals.
Gas, Bimini top, life jackets, anchor and ladder included. Things to bring onto the pontoon with you include sunscreen, music, towels & food/beverages of your choice.

Great stay!
Aside from the rainy weather, our family of 12 had a great vacation! Fishing was awesome! Barely had the lure in the water before a crappie hopped on! Gaming table and pool table were great on the rainy days. Cabin had everything we needed. Would stay again!

Quiet post-Labor Day retreat.
Enjoyable. Nice setup for large groups. The included pontoon was a big plus. Need a little larger table on the deck for meals, and an umbrella for shade on the deck would help. Liked the large beautiful lakefront yard and view. Neighborhood dead end street with its slow traffic was pleasant for walking.

Great place!
This was a favorite among different family members. It has a good layout, great yard and 4 king size beds. My only complaints would be that the yard really needed to be mowed, and the 5 the bedroom was open to the upstairs which allowed sound and light to wake up those belong. It's not really an enclosed bedroom, but an open room used as a bed room. Overall, great experience though

Great Stay For Our Family!
House was clean and well-appointed. We loved our time there. A couple of things that you might want to know: There is one small restroom on each floor, which feels a bit lacking especially on the main floor if you are filling up the space with people. You will have to be willing to negotiate everyone's bathroom needs. If I were going to schedule a longer stay this would for sure feel like an issue for our family. Secondly we had a family contract covid and the homeowner was unwilling to be flexible regarding discounts for those people or rescheduling. Please know if the worst happens and you must cancel you should have insurance to protect you so that you don't loose. Other than that, we very much enjoyed our time at the cabin, and would consider scheduling again. They were very prompt on replying to our concerns and questions and were thorough with their instructions.

Clean and great communication
Even though we had a lot going on the week we stayed. The family that did make it we enjoyed the cabin. Lots of winter activities and more than enough space. We are actually planning on retuning this summer to enjoy the outdoors. The property manger Maegan was awsome. Anytime I reached out to her she responded fast. We love this cabin and we suggest everyone whose visiting Wisconsin to check them out.

Couldn’t have been better.
Perfect for four family groups and wide range of ages. Outdoor pontoon, kayaks, paddle boat, dock kept kids busy. Large table wonderful for family meals. Landscaping beautiful and fire pit area perfect. Can’t say enough good things!

Perfect week
We stayed for six days and absolutely loved everything! Megan is so nice to work with and very easy to get ahold of! The cabin was beautiful and we loved the spacious yard for all our family games. We caught fish on the pier and in the boat. Game room was a huge hit as well!

We had an absolutely awesome time at Fraser Fir - - The property was wonderful, equipped with everything one could possibly need - - The kitchen was supplied with everything you would have in your own kitchen and then some :-) - And, the two refrigerators were an absolute blessing! - - We all enjoyed the game room - I even beat my hubby in pool for the first time ever!! - - There were board games, card games and books galore! - The Pac-Man game was a favorite with the great-grandkids. - - The pontoon boat got a lot of use taking us fishing or out into the lake to swim - - and it worked beautifully! - - Smores, talks and stories around the fire-pit at night was wonderful - with a great wood supply. - - Communication with the owner, Megan, was absolutely great - This was the first time I had used VRBO, and she was so helpful with communications, texts and e-mails about directions to the property and answers to any question I had - -Couldn't ask for a better host - Thank you Megan. I highly recomment Fraser Fir for your next get-together!!

We had a great time. Unfortunately the weather was extremely hot but the game room gave us plenty to do. The lake is very weedy so swimming had to happen in the middle of the lake no where near the shore.

Fantastic winter retreat

Great for family of all ages!
We stayed here in the winter so weren't able to enjoy the fire pit or the lake, but the cabin was awesome for people of all ages. The kids loved the pool table and the retro atari console. The property manager was extremely responsive when we had a question come up during our stay. It also snowed while we were there and the driveway was plowed before we left for the day. We will definitely stay here again!

Christmas at Fraser Fir
We came to Fraser Fir to celebrate Christmas together. They had a cute decorated tree for us to put our presents under it. We loved the floor plan and there were many little extras: coffee, shampoo, conditioner, salt and pepper, assortment of teas, many board games, books in every room, laundry soap to name a few. When I asked about having a bonfire, management had firewood delivered. We got a quick response when the septic alarm went off. Comfy beds. The driveway was cleared of snow promptly. Cooking was a breeze because they had everything you needed in utensils, pans, cookie sheets, serving bowls. After check out, I suggested they have more glasses/wine glasses. Management said they would take care of the suggestion that day. A great place to celebrate our Covid Christmas!

Amazing Family Getaway
After a summer of feeling trapped indoors, our family decided to get away for a fall vacation. We could not have been happier with our choice. The cabin was exactly what we needed for a large family: kids rooms were able to be secluded from noise in the evening, the dining room table was large enough for a feast, the boat was well maintained, and everything was thought of. On top of it, we had an amazing property manager who answered every question we had in moments. Highly recommend this cabin!

fun family winter getaway
We had a nice time getting our entire family together. Loved the two full sized refrigerators! Also loved all the little details...first aid kits, lots of towels, soap, condiments, etc. It was a nice care free stay. If i could change one thing, it would be the water quality, but it did not affect our stay.

excellent location for our ladies fall weekend
There are 8 of us ladies that take a fall trip each year. We found the Balsam Lake area three years ago now and have fallen in love with it. We stayed at a cabin last October and wanted to stay again but unfortunately the cabin was booked. We were a bit nervous to stay at a cabin with no reviews but when we realized that the cabin was run by the same person that our first choice cabin was we were willing to take a chance. Glad we did! The cabin and lake were beautiful. She recommended a new brewery by the cabin that we tried out and loved. It had great food, fun beer and we spent hours playing cards at the brewery. The cabin was bigger than the photos made it look. The pontoon is a added bonus although we didn’t use it too much in October. Next year we will book early! We really enjoyed that the owner gave us her cell number, checked on us during the stay and was quick to offer us recommendations. Thank you again!
