Looking for a place to get away from it all? Don't want any neighbors nearby? Our Cabin-in-the-Woods is the perfect retreat for anniversaries, honeymoons, or just a quiet place to escape by yourselves. Enjoy views of the river and Ouachita Mountains from the wrap around porch while you drink your morning coffee. Swim, kayak, tube, or paddle boat alone in the wide section of river at the base of the steps. Hike some trails through 80 acres of pine forest and hills. Enjoy bathing in the outdoor bathhouse while enjoying the secluded view. There is no chlorinated pool, but the clear river and bathhouse are even better!
The deck includes a grill and patio furniture, as well as two porch swings and chairs. There are 118 steps down to the river since the cabin sits high above the surrounding hills. The views on the way down are beautiful, and the hike on the way back up will leave you breathless! :-)
Both sides of the river are part of the property, and no other cabin or home sits on the 80 acres to help provide that true secluded get-away experience! The property enjoys 1/3 mile of riverfront and has about 4 miles of private trails. (Note: the trails are currently under re-construction and may be messy through summer 2025)
Other things to note:
-Dogs for couples without kids will be considered if they do not shed, do not chew or scratch, and will be kept clean. A pet fee is required. Contact owner before booking.
-The final 1/2 mile to the cabin is a rough dirt road. A small suv or truck is recommended, but a car should be okay if the weather is dry. This is a cabin in the woods, so even though we strive to keep it very clean, you may encounter some spiderwebs, bugs, and other nature.
-Three security cameras are located outside. Two point at the driveway area, and the other points toward the river. They may be turned off (if they aren't already off).
-The forest was thinned in Dec 2024 so the trails are currently under re-construction. The property is still fun to explore, but not as easily walked right now. We hope to be finished repairing trails by summer 2025.
