Great location, great view, but beware of power outages!
The house is exactly as listed, and the view is amazing, it just needs some updating here and there (linens, dishes, etc.) It was clean, but some things could have used a little extra attention (remote had some “gunk” on it and the disposal had an odor, even though they say to not use it.) Wi-Fi is spotty, but that could be attributed to the location. Unfortunately a wind storm happened while we were there and we lost power after the first night. With no heat, no hot water, and no way to cook, we contacted the property mgr. to see if we could get even a small refund, which they promptly denied. We realize a wind storm isn’t anyone’s “fault” (including ours), but we didn’t use the showers and barely used the kitchen, and they wouldn’t even waive the cleaning fee. Something to keep in mind if you’re planning a fall/winter trip to the island.

A darling place right on the water with an amazing view! We stayed here to attend a wedding at Captain Whidbey Inn about 100 yards away so the location was perfect. A few things that weren’t so great: “Garbage disposal not for first use” Understandably, due to a sensitive septic system, they don’t want you putting food down the kitchen sink. However, a disabled disposal with a clearly marked switch that doesn’t work only adds confusion and a sink that does not drain and backs up immediately when the water runs. Maybe remove the disposal or add a sign (along with the 100 other signs/labels in the place) that makes it clear not to put food scraps down the disposal but allows renters to turn it on to clear the drain. Lots of pots and pans available but the “pantry” consists of 3 spices and no salt and pepper. If you are going to make and kind of meal, bring literally everything with you. This includes a morning cup of coffee, there is a coffee maker but no complimentary coffee as in most places we have stayed. Dishwasher does not have a utensil basket. Several light bulbs need replacing. “WiFi” is available but is intermittent, and when it is working is not string enough to update an emai inbox. Asking for a 1 hour earlier check in to get ready for the event, they responded that they could not accommodate our request to arrive “a few hours earlier”. When I responded that we would appreciate even 15 minutes earlier, no response messages until the next day.

A Nice New Years Weekend on the Water
We spent a winter weekend by the water and really enjoyed our stay. Even though it was freezing outside, the heaters kept the interior of the home warm despite the huge windows. It was a lot of fun relaxing and reading on the sofa, watching the birds on the water and the mountains in the distance. The bedroom was comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked, so we were able to prepare all our meals at the house. Our biggest problem of the weekend was that we didn't get a check-in e-mail, so we had to sit in the driveway and call the service number. Luckily it only took a few minutes to get the right code. The shower by the master bedroom has water pressure issues, but the shower on the other side of the house is just fine. Also, the electric switches that controlled the recliners in the living room didn't work. But all in all, those were our only complaints, and they were minor. We enjoyed our stay, and this is a great property for a relaxing weekend getaway.

Great location, lots of small issues
Great location right on the water. Very quiet and peaceful. Good size kitchen with everything we needed. Located close to cute little town of Coupeville, but also close to larger town of Oak Harbor with lots more restaurants and stores. But, there were lots of little things that really added up to take away from our experience. Dishwasher wasn’t working. Ran the shower in the main bedroom for about 5 minutes and the water never got hot (hot water worked in the other bathroom.) Bed is SUPER firm. Some blinds would not open. Other blinds would not come down to cover the whole window. Recliners are electric and did not work consistently. Curtains to block out light in the bedroom would be really nice for those who have trouble sleeping when it starts to get light out. Really was an amazing location, but probably would not stay here again.

WaterFRONT!
This is a wonderful place to stay if you are wanting waterfront accommodations. There’s a nice space to walk on the beach right out of your back door and any services you might need or close by and either Oak Harbor or Coupeville. Well stocked kitchen and anything else you might need.

Amazing…but also a little disappointed
The location and view were absolutely incredible. So close to the water that you felt like you were on top of it. It was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. We were just disappointed that the dishwasher and dryer didn’t work, and one of the smoke detectors (near where my kids slept) was removed from the ceiling. Also, there was an amazing deck to enjoy the view, but no furniture out there to sit on. I would love to book this property for our trip next year, and maybe every year, but would need those things to be fixed.

Scenery is gorgeous
We decided to go to this property because of being right on the beach and I love to watch the waves. The wildlife was Entertaining seals and birds. The one regret I have is to count on internet. There was no internet. I was told by the property manager that we would receive some sort of credit because there was no internet and that was listed as one of the amenities. But so far there has not been a credit. So sad I will not return.

Great place
Great location! Loved the back porch and views. Enjoyed watching the seals every evening! House is great, comfortable bed. The kitchen had everything (almost too many things) we needed. A little disappointed that the outdoor propane BBQ was not there as shown in the picture, instead there was an electric table grill. (Which we didn’t use due to being pretty dirty). Would definitely go back!

Wonderful location
My husband and I love being on penn cove so this property fit the bill beautifully. The house is very comfortable for two people, and the location on the base of the cove could not be better. Bed was comfortable, kitchen decently stocked, although the pots are old and the property managers didn’t accurately answer some household questions- ie, they said there is no blender or spices; there were both. Linens are on the older side and could definitely be replaced. As could the leather arm chairs and couch- time for a lmk update for sure! We were there in summer so not an issue for us, but the wall heaters didn’t seem to work and the shower pressure is barely a trickle. Also the 2nd bathtub drain was blocked. If this property was more lovingly maintained I’d give it a 5+ rating. As is, I’d say it’s a 4. You do here traffic on the road and from the air base, but watching the seals and sea planes makes up for that :)

Nice location
The location was perfect & beautiful on the water! The rental itself was just ok. Living room had 2 chairs & a loveseat, all leather which I don't find very comfy or inviting. The wifi was insufficient, ended up just not using it. No flexibility on the checkin/out times & checkout time is a tad early. I would suggest adjusting the standard checkout time at least to 11am instead of 10am &/or be more open to accommodating early/late requests. The reason for no flex was due to additional cleaning due to covid, however we didn't find the cleaning to be as superb as expected. Leave the option/instruction on how to open the upper windows as the house got stuffy at night & the only options were to leave the patio doors or the large windows open which would compromise security.

We loved sitting on the deck watching birds, seals, otters and guests arriving at the Captain Whidbey by seaplane and boat. Such a delight to spend so much time in such a beautiful spot. The house was well equipped and comfortable. We’ll be back!

Peaceful, beautiful - little place of paradise!
This is a beautiful home, sitting in a most amazing location! The water is right at your door step, and there is a lot of wildlife to watch. We had a wonderful relaxing weekend. Check in and check out was a breeze, had everything we needed. Hope to be back soon!

Superb location and views.
Spent three nights here for our 20th anniversary. Loved this little place. Just perfect for 2 or 3 people, a shoreline parcel with exactly the right structure that maximizes glorious views. Located near many of the highlights for a Whidbey Island visitor. There were a few dirty dishes in the cabinets, and those picture windows are probably hard to keep spotless for more than a few days in the rainy climate, but otherwise we found no issues and this cozy little retreat impressed us through and through.

The house has an excellent view and location. It was very easy to travel to numerous locations on the island. Overall the house and property would benefit from a good head to toe cleaning and there are maintenance issues that need to be addressed. One in particular is that a smoke detector is missing in the hallway and the wires are hanging down from the ceiling. (Safety Issue)

Beautiful views, central location.
This property was good, although we had some difficulty with little things. One of the showers had such little water pressure that it would have been better taking a shower in the rain. The heaters were difficult to turn on/off as they kept cutting out. However, it’s on a great property and overall a great experience.

Perfect for couples!
Lovely and very comfortable space with peaceful water views and wave sounds. There is an electrical issue with the wall heaters. However, there are room size space heaters available for each room that did work nicely. The only problem is that they are on at all time vs temp sensitive. This would in no way keep me from returning!!

What a gem!
We spent 4 nights in this property and loved our time! This home is perfect for two people (maybe a 3rd if they are on an air matress) who are looking for a view that can't be beat, a home base that is very conveniently located to almost anything on the island, 30 mins from inter-island ferries and a trip full of quiet and serenity. This home does need a few things updated, like the dishwasher that doesn't really clean your dishes, but all and all it was exactly what we wanted and we will absolutely be back!

We had a lovely stay. The location coupled with the overall nice and clean accommodations really can’t be beat and outweighs all the minor issues. Just a few notes for future guests. Three out of 4 wall heaters did not work. I asked specifically about them because of a previous review and did not get a straight answer. They did provide space heaters, which took care of the heating for most part. The DVD player does not work with the TV to get sound, and we tried everything. Didn’t want to have someone enter the unit to try to fix it during our stay due to covid. The remotes for the ceiling fan light combo didn’t work to turn the fan off (in one bedroom). All the pots and pans were old Teflon at various stages of chipping away. And the dish washer was gross looking, like others said, which probably explains the water marked dishes. But we knew that coming in. Could use a couple more kitchen towels and a coffee/tea set up would be really nice. We would like that more than the Vacasa pouch with playing cards and wine key. We appreciated the gesture though. Overall, we had a great time and would come back.

Big disappointment
What a waste of a beautiful view and location. Property maintenance is poor, mold in dishwasher, heater doesn’t work, washer not working, garbage disposal doesn’t work, shower dirty, faucets spray water all over, dishes dirty, tacky labels all over cabinets. We won’t be back.
