I love the B Ocean. I stay there every time I visit Ft. Lauderdale. However the check in process is terrible. I arrive early and stand in line quite a while before getting to the check in desk to be told that my room is not ready and that I will be informed when it is ready. When I go to ‘recheck in’ I have to wait in line again. It takes too long and is rather hectic. They need to improve the process for guests who arrive before the 4 PM check in time.

They have restaurants on site but they need to improve the quality of the food. For example they offer a buffet for breakfast, $30 per person but it was terrible. I wouldn't recommend eating here. The location is great, right on a private beach which is the best aspect of this hotel.

My husband & I got away for a couple of days prior to Christmas to soak up the sun. I looked for a "Resort" on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. I wanted a beach view. We did get that but, although the desciption mentioned a spa, a bar with an unusual mermaid show, a restaurant, and ideal location none of this was open and or available any longer. Apparently we learned from staff that recently the hotel had been bought and all of those things were done away with. The room was clean and "ok" At night the room was very dark with only 2 bedside lamps. The small setting area had no lamps or lighting. There was no trash receptacle in the bathroom, no pen or paper by the bed, The phone for the front desk or room service from the small bar did not work.In the end our bill was $1,400 for three nights. The room portion was $738.00 meaning the rest was resort charges and parking. I would not call this a resort. We paid for resort amenities and they did not offer any. Disappointed.

Nice property!! We had a wonderful stay, was at the pool with our kids all day. Love that there is staff at the pool to get us drinks and food! Hotel was nicely maintained and comfortable. The only complaint we would have is that the staff upon check out was rude/annoyed with us because we had a pool towel still.

We only stayed one night prior to a cruise. The property was fine but we really didn't take advantage of its features. I did find it odd that the coffee stand in the lobby stopped serving coffee after breakfast. True, there are coffee makers in the rooms but you can't compare freshly brewed to what comes out of the machines in the rooms.

The hotel was nice. The first couple nights the staff was not great but the rest of the trip the staff was excellent. The walls unfortunately in this hotel are so thin that neighbors were pounding on walls. When we were just talking at a normal level there was no music. No TV, no nothing Aunt. We had people on both sides of us tapping on walls and it was very strange. Security came. They said yeah, you're not loud at all and told the guy to go back inside and leave us alone. But they obviously need to definitely put some insulation in these walls because you can't even have a normal conversation without upsetting your neighbor. So if you are wanting to sleep while you're in fort Lauderdale while you're on the beach in sunny weather enjoying a vacation, maybe this is not the best hotel for you. Check into an old folks home instead
