My husband and I stayed here with our 2 grandsons to go to Universal Studios. When I looked at the photos of this property on the website it looked like a hotel from the 1950's so I was a little worried. It turns out it definitely has a 1950's theme but is very much a new/updated hotel. We loved the nostalgic flair! There is a "cafeteria" style restaurant offering many dining choices suitable to everyone. The service is fast and easy. There was plenty of seating in the restaurant area. There is a Universal Studios gift shop to purchase souvenirs just like at the theme park but you don't have to keep track of them at the park all day. There are many activities including a large pool area, lazy river, hot tub, fire pit for roasting marshmallows (sold at the cafeteria) ping pong tables, movies at poolside and probably things we never even saw. It was a little difficult to find our room upon arrival. The property is large, it was dark when we checked in and our building was at the back of the property. I'm sure the person who checked us in thought the directions given were great but when we didn't know where we were going and pushing a luggage trolley we had difficulty finding our room. Fortunately, after several wrong turns, a very nice employee took us right to our building. The Shuttle provided to Universal Studios was great. It was in a well marked area, large for many people to congregate, ran very frequently right up to the park and it was easy to find to return.
