We always enjoy our stay at Lakeside Lodge. The reason for a mediocre rating this year centers around the berm of ice that we had to step over to enter our cabin. It made moving our stuff in difficult and potentially dangerous as the entry was impaired by the berm in front of the door. We checked in after hours, but in the morning i talked with a young woman and asked to borrow the ice chipper to remove the berm. She said someone would come work on it. Later that morning a different young woman came and sprinkled ice melt on the berm and in the later afternoon someone came and hacked a narrow path through the berm. We checked out the next morning.
On the plus side, we asked to alter our reservation 3 nights to 2 and our request was honored without penalty! We appreciated this.
As we were staying in a unit with a full kitchen a dish towel and dish cloth or clean sponge would have been appreciated. And, a broom would be nice.
We love the dark sky at night and always feel safe there. We also like the proximity to winter activities, ie x-country skiing.
