"Not sure what the negative comments were all about, the resort is nice. Has some age showing but its not obvious. Front desk young lady at checkin was super! Helped with all kinds of things, very friendly . Our 5th floor "cheap" room in the Wave Building with balcony is quite nice. Still can see ocean beyond a roof below. We did not eat at the hotel restaraunts or buy drinks. Average food entres are 25 to 40 bucks. There is a great local bar/eatery across the street with a good assortment menu i'd recommend. Its very casual with outdoor seating Pools are well maintained and the manmade beach/cove secludes you from the waves and wind. There is no airport or cruise shuttle. Uber is very reasonable or a taxi. Taxi from airport was 30 with tip. Uber is definitely cheaper. Overall its a 4 out of 5 "

"Hotel was in a great place, very historic, walk out and you're in the center. Staff very friendly, we did have one issue with no hot water, luke warm The staff did try to fixed it but was not able too. It did not ruin out stay!! The hotel was fully booked. I will write a review (Positive of course) to tell others not to believe the negative reviews. Was always great to be greated every time we were acknowledge "

"I stayed for a weekend. Being recently renovated, the room was quiet, clean, with nice towels and linens. My room did not have any windows, but with nice lighting, dimmable lamps, and good air conditioning, they were hardly missed. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. And the location in central Old San Juan makes it a perfect for the very walkable area. Would book again. "
