Wonderful for a Family
We enjoyed our visit to Au Train, and this house was really perfect for our family size (2 adults, 3 kids 9, 6, and 2 1/2). It was very clean and spacious. We didn't use the firepit, but my kids tried kayaks for the first time, which they loved. The lake isn't really ideal for swimming (weeds/muck), but perfect for fishing or kayaking. The house is a bit close to the busy road, so that's my one caution for families with young children. The house is pretty toddler-proof though :) AuTrain is just 5 minutes down the road, and has a great pizza place, along with a small conveniece store. Munising is nice and close for groceries or food too. I highly recommend checking out the waterfalls in this area. AuTrain Falls is right down the road, and Wagner Falls is maybe 10 minutes away. The one quirk was a noisy doorbell unit in the hallway, but it didn't bother me, though it could be a little annoying for some. I would absolutely return to this house!

UP trip 5/18 to 5/24/24
We all loved the house. It was very clean and the beds and furniture were comfortable. The location was very nice and private. We had a lake directly in our back yard and enjoyed the firepit in the evenings and the kayaks. It was a small branch off of the larger Au Train lake but an easy row to the bigger lake and very safe. It was so peaceful to sit on the dock and hear the birds and frogs sing while fishing. We had some nice hikes. Particularly liked Chapel Falls and Chapel Beach hike. It was beautiful. We took the Pictured Rocks Cruise tour and we visited Marquette Maritime museum and lighthouse. The Delft theatre was a great delicious restaurant in Marquette. We also took a day trip to Mackinac Island which was a 2.25 hr drive away. That was so fun. There was a lot of driving but everything was within about a half hr to 40 min drive away at most. We did a lot of walking. We also spent a day at home chilling. There was wifi and roku tv and some games. There is a little grocery right up the street, Au Train grocery and they had most of what we needed. We only did one initial grocery trip to Munising. On the last day we drove up to Ipsheming and toured the iron mine. That was fun too. There were a few things that didnt open until Memorial Day like the glassbottom boat tours of shipwrecks, so missed that one, but the maritime museum was really great too. Thanks for a great stay.

Great snowmobiling location.
House was very clean. Plenty of beds, although the north set of bunkbeds is very wobbly. Nice hot showers, upstairs shower valve=hot & cold is backwards, but worked ok. Located less than 1/4 mile from snowmobile trail #8.

Long awaited reunion getaway
We had a much awaited reunion vacation with my family and the vacation home was the perfect venue. Though the non stop rains during our stay did restrict some of our outdoor activities, we had a good time bonding and spending special moments together indoors. This vacation stay was so memorable and will be etched in our memories forever. Next time we plan to use the kayaks and canoes they provide :). Also the backyard is just breathtaking.

Nice property
This is a very nice property it’s very secluded the nearest neighbor is about a quarter of a mile away. Everything we needed was there at first I didn’t think there was a grill but I found it in the garage. The place had plenty of towels and linen. Three kayaks that you can use.

Comfortable but close to the road and many steps to water
The property was very clean and well organized. It was very close to the road, so when the windows were open, there was a lot of road noise. Also, there are many, many steps down to the water that are hard for those with mobility limitations. Wonderful to have kayaks on site! Wifi worked great, and views are lovely.

Lovely home, great birding
Wonderful property, the house was well stocked with everything we needed for a great stay. Due to Covid we cooked all our meals at the house. The house is a short drive to Valley Spur for great cross country skiing and not far from Eben Ice caves. Most mornings an eagle perched near the window and a pileated woodpecker worked on a near by tree.

Wonderful vacation home!
This house was everything we were looking for our first family vacation in Michigan. It was close enough to Lake Superior and all of the spots we wanted to visit. It's also a short drive to the main town with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Biggest perk for us was the privacy! We basically had our own little lake for swimming and kayaking. We brought our own kayaks but the house also had kayaks available.
