Motel 6 cancels reservations of hurricane evacuees
I had two rooms booked through hotels.com because me and my family, along with my elderly father, had to evacuate the east coast due to hurricane Milton. I had even spoken with the general manager two days prior that I was definitely coming. She said no problem. After driving over 7 hours in bumper to bumper traffic, we arrived at the hotel and they had canceled my reservations that day and gave them to other guests. What a way to leave a family and an elderly man with no chance to use their hotel. They never even called to tell us. I had to scramble because everywhere that had affordable prices was booked solid, due to so many evacuee’s. I got lucky and was able to find two rooms about 45 minutes north of motel 6, but it was in a very rough and dangerous neighborhood. They should be embarrassed about what they did to my family and so many more.

It felt like I was more of an issue than anything when checking in, like how dare I stop their conversation to check in. When I got to my room, there were cigarette ashes all over the seat. I didn’t stay that night, I took the loss on the money and found another hotel. The room smelled horrible and obviously hadn’t been cleaned.

I was evacuating hurricane Milton. Got the welcome reservation Email around 2 pm and I arrived around 7pm to find out they overbooked. They turned me around plus 2 others parties I believe they don’t deserve any business from anyone because they prove me they will overbook even on state of emergency situation. Which left me with no options but to stay in my car because everything was sold out. Horrible stay away!!!

Fleas in the bed, shoes sticking to the dirty floor and front desk staff rude! The pictures are not what the place looks like, very rundown and scuzzy people living there and very unsafe at night with some interesting people that show up and knock on your door looking for drugs! I stayed there because of evacuating for hurricane Milton and booked for three nights, I left a day early because I couldn't stay there another night, I went home with no power and that was better than a flea infested room!
