The old world charm of this hotel is great. It has been modernized without losing its heritage. Staff are wonderful. The Palm room is always a gem. The hamam spa rivals ANY out there and we have been to a few. My only complaint was the bed. Old spring style which sagged in the middle. Made noise with any type of movement. The new Italian restaurant is a little pricey but the food and service are excellent and I love the romantic vibe of the place at night. We are locals overnighting after a Candlelight show there, so not fussed about touring. However, the location is great within a short walk or cab/Uber to everything downtown.

Booked this hotel for its old charm. Beautiful building but needs an update as interiors quite worn and shabby. The bathroom's old, dated and basic. The ceiling (or plaster on the ceiling) in our room was crumbling away with pieces falling over the desk and floor. Mattress was not great (had to move rooms twice). Cleaning in common areas lacking... there's a handy microwave/ice machine on the third floor - but again not clean. The microwave had food remains in there (& dirty crockery) on the shelf for the entire duration of our stay. Gym, Spa and Restaurant are decent and would happily use those again. The bell-man (Carlton?) was friendly and welcoming.

Can’t say enough about this hotel and the staff. Friendly, helpful and quick check-in, to a perfectly-cooled & spotlessly clean room. For a hotel of its age, everything from the bathroom fixtures to the climate-control system was in perfect order. The dining room is beautifully restored, and the staff - from hostess through server to bartender were astonishingly friendly, helpful and welcoming. I had not planned on visiting the restaurant, but my late-evening vesper (okay, vespers) and cheese plate were the perfect cap to my evening. Highly recommended.

Just stayed for 3 nights solo. While the rooms are renovated, the bathrooms are not. Thank goodness for the shower mat (and I brought my own flip flops). As soon as you walk in there is a musty smell in the room. Mornings were loud with people upstairs dragging furniture and the AC unit. The bed and sheets were clean though and so I didn’t utilize daily housekeeping. The one concierge was helpful to guide me where I could buy a USB cord in the hotel area.

Wonderful service, very comfortable stay. Hotel has been updated, but bathrooms still a bit outdated. Easy walk to the Forks and all that it has to offer, which is one of the biggest benefits!
