We got there early, we were checking in on a Sunday when many people are leaving but I got there earlier then the check in time and was told that because my room was ready they would allow me to check in and waived the early check in fee for us. They are pet friendly and allowed us to bring our small dog for the cost of $30 which wasn’t bad. We got a really good deal on Expedia for the room and for an extra $13 we both got to eat breakfast which would have cost $45 and the food was very fresh and delicious. There are also lots of stores and some restaurants nearby but no place you can walk to other then a large movie theater which we did not go to. And it’s about a 10 min drive into the heart of Gettysburg.

I enjoyed my stay. Staff was helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay here again. However dining at the hotel was not a pleasant experience. Waitstaff was MIA. The staff didn’t check in on my table. Food came out cold. It was not busy. There were only 3 tables of guests.

Very nice first-class luxury hotel with comfortable beds and super clean facility. I could have done without the portrait of Jefferson Davis in the elevator lobby, though.

The grandeur of the property was unexpected for that price range. We were pleasantly surprised with how clean, well decorated, spacious, and welcoming the lobby area was. It was jolting to find, however, that the showers are only half a door. Every shower flooded the entire room, and with only two large towels provided, it was hard to clean up the water spill from the showers that are completely unavoidable! Other than that, it was a great facility with amazing staff.

Loved the decorating in this hotel. It was just perfect for visiting Gettysburg. Patriotic in theme and centered around the Civil War era. The grounds are beautiful and the area is quiet. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Two large gas stations are right at the entrance to the hotel road. Slight mix-up with billing (charged an extra day on one room) but the hold was taken off the card within a couple of days. My only complaint would be the buffet breakfast. It was cold by the time we were seated to eat. The line to be seated is under a large air conditioning vent in the ceiling so that didn't help either.

Terrible customer service
The hotel itself was really nice, but there was a steampunk convention happening that weekend and the hotel crew didn’t handle it well. First of all it was impossible to use the elevators, because one wasn’t working and the other two would stop in every single floor for people moving their stuff around for the convention. Second, ice machine wasn’t working in most floors. We put “do not disturb” but the housekeeper kept knocking on our door every morning. In the day of the check out the crew didn’t seem to care that the convention goes were hoarding the carts in their rooms, and didn’t do anything to help us. We had a lot of heavy things to move from the 6th floor - we are moving cross country - and we had to bring things to the car one by one since we couldn’t get a cart. The entire ordeal took over an hour and the hotel crew didn’t help us at all! Super inconvenient and not acceptable for an hotel if that size. We got late for our drive - and started a full day trip all sweaty because we had to come and go multiple times the 6 floors. Terrible and unacceptable. Definitely do not te coment this hotel.

The only problem was there was no microwave or fridge in the 3rd party rooms. You only get these rooms if you book durect with the hotel. We used our cooler and it was fine

Wonderful place to stay
Stayed in a bedroom suite. First very nice and spacious. Walk in shower, couch folds out into a bed.two tvs and nice refrigerator. No microwave. There is a microwave on the property. Bed was comfortable and it was nice and clean and quiet in our room. We stayed for a steam punk convention, had a wonderful time will return again
