"I’ve been to the North Shore 7 times now. I brought my family here for their first time and to celebrate the 57th anniversary of my parents and the 34th of my oldest brother and sister-in-law. I couldn’t have asked for a better property! They got to experience 7 days of waves crashing on the beach just outside the door, watched whales breach from the lenai, and feel the cool ocean breeze. The house was great. Clean and provisioned. The owner even left chocolates and towel swabs in every bedroom, I couldn’t ask for more!I will absolutely recommend this property to any and everyone who travels to Oahu!!!!"

"The location was excellent. Many near-by beaches and the ocean just off the deck. The property could use a little sprucing up, mainly on the deck boards and railing (some rotten spots). The third bedroom did not have a true queen bed, but a fold-out futon. "

"Indoor/Outdoor furniture used throughout was dated, soiled, and uncomfortable. Webbing had long since rotted away and was replaced by plywood. Old throw rugs were filthy so we rolled them and set aside. We purchased cleaning supplies and cleaned the home ourselves for the first two days of our vacation. We complained to the management company who offered apologies and platitudes but only made a cursory effort to correct. Soon after our complaints, WiFi was disconnected and remained that way for five days.Home had walls 1 inch thick without insulation. Electrical switches and outlets were ancient and some didn't work. Master bath used a flimsy, sticking, modified bi-fold closet door for entry. Our legs were covered with bug bites. Management company did get the yard sprayed. Neighborhood was essentially a ghetto. Trash was piled high in several neighboring houses. Homeless drug addicts were everywhere and we were approached everytime we tried to walk into town. Nightly explosions rocked the house from neighbors use of illegal fireworks and New Years was a war zone.We had an awful experience. Never again."

"Great location for glamping. amazing off-grid set up. however, tent area is not maintained. mold on bed and throughout tent. "

"We LOVED our stay at this beach house. Location, location, location!! The views, the easy beach access, the privacy, the convenience of being close to Haleiwa and to a well-stocked grocery store in the other direction...And did I mention the absolutely stunning views from the kitchen, dining area, living room, and master bedroom?We even had visits on the beach by sea turtles and also could often see them swimming just off shore.The house itself was spacious enough for the 6 adults in our group, and while it may be lacking some modern updates it was very comfortable and well equipped. (Well stocked with kitchen utensils, etc. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water.) The lack of air conditioning was not an issue at all - between the ocean breezes and the many fans that were provided we were quite comfortable. The house is located on a quiet street off the main, busy road and we had no noise or safety concerns. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hale Kai! And did I mention the incredible views?"

"I loved staying here. I came for work and spent all my off time on the beach and local on North Shore. The people are great, the area is laid back and I could not have been happier. The people running the condo just expect you to be an adult and respect the quiet time. Next time I come to Hawaii, I would love to stay here."
