"Surprising quiet considering the house is close to the major roadway. The wonderful sounds of the ocean block out the traffic’s noise!! My husband and I spent most of our down-time relaxing on the large back patio overlooking the ocean. I slept in the hammock, under the stars on my second night, which was lovely. My husband was happy with all of the televisions. Pretty easy to figure out the remote controls. I found it very helpful to have labels on light switches, remotes, cabinets, etc.Next time we will bring our adult daughters and their friends!!"

"I brought my parents over for their birthdays both during this week in March. It was the perfect cozy, but not cramped, little nest for us. Beautiful private beach and everything you could ever need or ask for. LocationIs perfect and convenient for restaurants, shops and hangouts on the North Shore, my favorite area of the island. "

"Basically we enjoyed our stay in John's Yurt. But it should have been better. John had good communication with us and sent us links on how to arrive, but we were still uncertain and missed the last turn. The Yurt is an old drooping canvass on a wooden platform that had at one time been partially powerwashed set around trees, therefore it is private and without a view. It had stormed three days before we arrived but the leaf debris had not been cleared nor a bit of standing water on the inside vynal floor. The canvass appeared spotted (? with mold?) And had a rip 12 inches long that John duct tapped the next day. And sitting against the bed headboard, the canvass touched my head. Sheets were clean and crisp. The porcelain toilet worked well. The propane heat for shower (with plenty of half used products) didn't work for us until it was replaced. During our last evening, we had hoped to enjoy time outside on the plastic adirondack chairs (one was cracked) but the monthly hired hand was there weed-walking and blowing. Better if he would have done this between 10-4, no?"

"The location was excellent. Many near-by beaches and the ocean just off the deck. The property could use a little sprucing up, mainly on the deck boards and railing (some rotten spots). The third bedroom did not have a true queen bed, but a fold-out futon. "

"Indoor/Outdoor furniture used throughout was dated, soiled, and uncomfortable. Webbing had long since rotted away and was replaced by plywood. Old throw rugs were filthy so we rolled them and set aside. We purchased cleaning supplies and cleaned the home ourselves for the first two days of our vacation. We complained to the management company who offered apologies and platitudes but only made a cursory effort to correct. Soon after our complaints, WiFi was disconnected and remained that way for five days.Home had walls 1 inch thick without insulation. Electrical switches and outlets were ancient and some didn't work. Master bath used a flimsy, sticking, modified bi-fold closet door for entry. Our legs were covered with bug bites. Management company did get the yard sprayed. Neighborhood was essentially a ghetto. Trash was piled high in several neighboring houses. Homeless drug addicts were everywhere and we were approached everytime we tried to walk into town. Nightly explosions rocked the house from neighbors use of illegal fireworks and New Years was a war zone.We had an awful experience. Never again."
