The attendants were amazing! Great people service through and through. They treated us so well that I almost feel bad reporting that the room we were given was not as I had expected given the photos on Expedia. The bed did not have a bottom sheet and the rest of the bed was poorly made. The only window it had faced a boring wall. The floors seemed dingy, mopped but dingy, like the grout needed scrubbing. Our balcony was shared with the next room, only partially divided by a reed screen which I did not become aware of until I heard someone speak on the other side and then realized I would not be able to have the door to the balcony or the curtains open. We were given a room in the top front part of the hotel which was great because we were in and out of it quickly for exploring the town but alas, there was a festival in the town square that night and the noise went on til approximately 10 or 11 pm. Not too bad but beware in case you need to go to sleep earlier. The pool was nice and clean and the towel service by the pool very convenient. We were received with an iced “agua de tamarindo” and a chilled wet facial towel which was very refreshing. Beautiful gesture! I’d go back if I got the opportunity to see some of the other rooms to check if they may be better appointed. Again, quality people to interact with.

Very disappointing
Check in was OK except that they require that they write down your credit card info including the CVV (security number) which I was not at all comfortable with. There is no elevator and because my friend and I have mobility issues we had to wait 2 hours to have our luggage brought to our room and had a similar issue with bringing our luggage down when we checked out. There was no hot water in the shower. Even though they have a placard out front advertising their restaurant, we attempted to order and it was easily an hour before we were finally told that their kitchen isn't open on Sundays. The property is very welcoming and appealing but we won't stay here again given all of the issues mentioned.

Feels like coming home, only better, every time we stay. Love that the owner is on site and all staff recognize us and are polite and skilled and prompt. Lovely property in an excellent location. So charming and the rooms are nice, spacious. My rating would be higher if I didn’t have ants everywhere in the room. I noticed them when I arrived in my room and was told they would deal with them the next day. I don’t understand why I wasn’t given a different room since the property was not even half full. The wi-fi was terrible. The chicken with chocolate pepper sauce was excellent.

This is a boutique hotel located right on the town square within walking distance to many amenities. The staff is amazing. It’s just a really cool vibe. Can’t go wrong.
