"Situated within easy walking distance of Lord Street and the town's main attractions, the Bowden Lodge was ideal for my weekend stay. The public rooms - lounge and breakfast room - are spacious and show off the building's character; the single bedroom was modern, very clean and with all the usual facilities. The couple who run the Bowden Lodge were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was nicely cooked. There is parking at the front and a bus stop right outside. There is a small fridge in the room with fresh milk for tea and coffee making- a nice touch. A minor point is that the shower could perhaps be a little more powerful. Overall a very comfortable and welcoming establishment. "

"We've stayed at the Anelli a few times now. As frequent visitors to Southport, we have found the Anelli to be quite possibly the best hotel on offer in it's price range. We always book the superior double room, which is spacious, clean and airy, with an excellent en-suite. The room comes equipped with a dressing table, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, wardrobe with safe and a large tv mounted on the wall. There is only parking for 2 cars on the property, but there is ample paid parking on the road outside the hotel, with blue badge holders not having to stay. The bar and breakfast area is very nice, with a fullly equipped bar. Breakfast is a continental offer, with cereals, yogurts, fruit and a basket with pastries, croissants, cheese, ham and salami. Toast is cooked fresh on request. It has to be experienced to appreciate how good the Anelli is. It truly is Southport's little gem."
