The hotel is dated. Used to be Holiday Inn. Could use some updating. There’s only 1 buffet restaurant and they serve the SAME food everyday, every meal. There are 4 restaurant options, but you have to book in advance and rarely get reservations. Drinks are the typical all inclusive bottom shelf options. Beaches have a lot of coral, limited open areas to swim.

Seeing a slight difference since acquired by Catalonia. Some of the furniture and beach chairs were replaced and areas previously old are getting revamped. The food was decent. Would stay again.

The property is beautiful with green gardens everywhere. They serve a variety of very tasty local and international dishes at every meal. The gym is excellent with very helpful staff. The sea surrounding the property is too shallow.

The ambience was somewhat ok the room was alright but a few renovation would do wonders for the property. The food was ok but wish I had more choices, the frozen beverages was terrible I'm Daiquiri lover and I couldn't finish one because of the after medicine taste it left in my mouth.

Property needs a lot of updating. Showers are worn and dirty needs to be replaced. Sliding glass doors should have screens. Too many CATS walking around. You should think about people with cat allergies. People petting and holding and feeding the cats then going to get food. That is unsanitary. There should be more activities. It can be a nice place to stay with family but changes need to happen. I will have to rethink about bringing my grands for a trip next year. Staff was excellent.

Food is crappy and bland. They need to find a couple of new cooks ASAP. Food is undercooked and they definitely can't cook rice. Maybe only two building got an update but the other seven is rundown moldy disgusting.

We really enjoyed our stay at Catalonia! The property is exceptionally clean & staff very friendly & very helpful! We thought food options were all delicious. Buffet had huge variety for all meals & there were 4 additional restaurants on site to make reservations at. The jerk bar by the beach was one of our favorites! The resort was built in early 1970s, so the outside has a vintage feel. However they have been doing renovations on interior rooms. The foyer & eating areas were all very nice, clean, & upgraded. We really enjoyed the open air design! There are employees everywhere, catering to whatever you need. Drinks, cleaning, picking up dishes, gardening. All of the bars did very well mixing drinks with very little wait. There is a schedule board posted by the pool that explains each days entertainment. We really enjoyed that, however, we did feel the nighttime entertainment was a little bit late. After a full day in the water and sun we found ourselves going to bed earlier than normal. we also loved jerk bar because they played island music like reggae & Caribbean sounds. We stayed at this hotel a week. We left resort to go on 3 excursions. we also took advantage of water sports offered on the resort. There is plenty of food & plenty to do to keep everyone busy! We carefully read reviews before selecting this resort & ignored comments about TVs not working. We don’t go on vacation to watch TV! Remember it is a foreign country & modern accommodations may differ. Loved it!
