Our experience at The Inn totally elevated our trip to Vermont. Montgomery Center is a tiny little town with charm out the wazoo about 10 minutes drive from Jay Peak, and an easy day trip to Stowe and Burlington. The Inn is located right in the center of town. The innkeeper introduced himself to us as soon as we arrived, and he was very present, professional, friendly and hospitable for the duration of our stay. Everyone on staff was wonderful! They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Plus, there's a beautiful inn dog!
We stayed in the Carriage House, which backs onto the river and has a little patio with chairs. Our room was clean and comfy. We had plenty of room to unpack and hang out, and the bed was incredibly comfortable; feather pillows, soft sheets, adorned with an adorable stuffed animal—I didn't want to get out of bed in the mornings.
There's a cozy, eclectically decorated lounge with a fireplace, books, games, a t.v., heated floors, and plenty of seating. Personal touches in the decor made the space feel very warm. We enjoyed hanging out there in the evenings.
Our dining experience was also excellent. Dinner was delicous. Our waitress was also the bartender. She made great recommendations and great drinks! Fresh fruit, coffee and breakfast in the mornings. The breakfast was a little different every day. Always yummy.
Overall, it was a unique experience. The character and the staff set it apart from other places. We'll absolutely stay here again.
