Tranquil Chalet - Nottely Riverfront, Starlink w/ Roku TV, Easy River Access

Fish and relax just feet from the Nottely River! One of a kind riverfront property located on the beautiful Nottely River. The Tranquil Chalet is located on a 1 acre fenced-in lot on a 25-acre meadow with 9 acres of river front property to hike and explore. We have upgraded the internet to Starlink. No more unbelievably slow HughesNet or DISH internet! We also upgraded the Wi-Fi and added two brand new Roku TVs. The property is located at the end of a mile long dirt road - true end of the road privacy!

We chose this property because it is very unique and incredibly relaxing. The covered wrap-around metal roofed porches are just feet from the Nottely River. You can fish, hike, go antiquing, sit by the fire and listen to the river, BBQ on the outdoor grill, watch the cows graze across the river, or just sit on the porch in the rockers and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Nottely River.

The Tranquil Chalet is located just 15 minutes from Murphy NC and Blairsville GA. Antique shops and flea markets are just minutes away.

Our family spent years camping. We always hoped to get one of the camp sites next to the creek at Vogel State Park so we could relax to the sounds of the rushing water. That rarely happened…

As my wife and I grew older, we got tired of the walk to the communal bathroom, lousy showers, lack of privacy, and the not-so-great sleep in the camper. As our kids grew older, the allure of sleeping in a tent with no WiFi faded so we set out in search of the next best thing that allows us to enjoy all of the outdoor benefits of camping, but with all the comforts of home. We found it at River Run!

Family trip
We loved the property being able to go out into the water with our boys. Boys being able to enjoy the nature. The road to get back into there was tricky but the boys enjoyed it and called it the roller coaster. They asked throughout the trip if we were going on the roller coaster again!

Amazing Views
Wonderful location. One of the best rentals I have stayed at for views and comfort of Cabin. Views are unmatched. Right on the river. Even if you don't use the upstairs bedroom, make sure to get up and look at the view off of the upper deck. Dirt road going in was a little more rustic that I planned for, but the views are definitely worth it.

Great getaway in the boonies.
Overall it’s a great place. House was sparkling clean and check in/ out was easy. (No service at house so get code and everything needed before you arrive) chalet had a kitchen fully stocked with all kitchen supplies needed. The mile long dirt road was absolutely horrible. I was expecting rough but not that rough. View of river is kind of obstructed by all the brush on banks unless you are on gabazo. We did lots of fishing and caught some trout. Seen river otters, deer, turkey, waterfowl and we even floated down the river some in the freezing water. It’s very awkward having another house right beside you with shared amenities that are limited on space. The accessible fishing spot is limited and not for more than a couple of people, meaning you have to take turns with the other chalet guests. Bring chairs for around the fire and items to make s’mores. The water is very hard!!! I would not recommend drinking it so bring plenty of water. It smells awful! Thankfully DoorDash and instacart deliver out there surprisingly so we never left during our trip as we didn’t wanna take that road anymore than we had to. Overall it’s a great place. Would be perfect if booking both chalets. We personally wouldn’t book again unless we booked both.

A little trepidation as we were traveling down the dirt road, but what we found at the end was a paradise. We thoroughly enjoyed the property and surrounding land. Sitting beside the River under the gazebo was worth it all!

Incredibly Surreal
The original plan was for me and my husband to stay at this cabin. He got sick and had to stay home. So I brought my 10 and 12 year old with me. When we woke up to the incredible views through the beautiful glass windows, we mind blown. For the first few hours of our stay I enjoyed some hot coffee while listening to the river flow. This cabin has everything you need for a short stay or an extended stay. In my opinion it would be nice for all ages. This cabin, if you want to escape the world, is your place. The owners were awesome and communicated quickly. I've never been to a more secluded place that was as beautiful as this. When they built these two cabins, they found the perfect place. My kids learned all kinds of things about the mountains, the community, and even the Indians. There is an incredible ancient Indian fish trap right outside the back doors. The only issue I had at all, was that we arrived late and it was raining. The driveway entrance is long and winding and at times you will think you're lost. But keep going because it dead ends into an absolutely incredible getaway. Just be careful and go slow! 10 out of 10 would recommend

Quiet little spot
Overall it was a great trip! The reviews on the water there are 100% correct - bring bottled water! I also recommend bringing breakfast food and snacks… we usually eat out the whole vacation so we don’t have to cook or do dishes, but everything to eat is 20 plus minutes out. The husband and kid loved fishing the creek and the fiend was gorgeous to just look at and drink coffee. Would absolutely stay again.

disapointed
The cabin it self was excellent, the road to it was terrible, good thing I had a 4-wheel drive, I don't mind a dirt road but my god.access to the water was very limited especially when they opened the dam, no way to use a fly rod. also if you could get the grounds keeper to mow a path to where you get in the water your guest would not spend time picking off hitchhikers, but we still enjoyed our stay. Please trim the cedars so they don't scratch larger vehicals.

Weekend Getaway
My husband, 11 year old son, and I stayed here over Labor Day Weekend and it was just what we needed! The property is beautifully maintained and so comfortable. It’s off the beaten path but a short drive to downtown Murphy, which was super cute! We kayaked through the Riverwalk area during the day and relaxed on the porch at night. Communication with the owners was fantastic as well. We will definitely return!

Girls trip
Went for sone peace and quiet and it is what we got. Chalet was clean, great amenities, and well appointed. Had a wonderful time sitting on the porch rocking and watching the river go by. Will say that the road to the property is a single car dirt road. We arrive in the evening and the road was intimidating with the fog and darkness, but once there it was wonderful. Also, the water was hard so be aware when washing. Other then two very minor things will be booking our next trip, possibly for the fall next time.

Sweet spot by the river
The property is lovely and there is a lot of room for family fun on the grounds. Beds were comfortable but bring your own pillow for best comfort. The dirt road leading to the property is a mile long and rather rutted out so we would leave once and come back once. Not a location to come and go often. The river entrance is on the adjacent property and is good for fishing or getting in the river only.

Beautiful home
There are a few warnings I'd like to give to anyone renting this property. One, the road is a single car dirt road with man curves and takes about 10 mins to travel down. Also whomever stayed before us clearly did not follow instructions and left the doors open leaving us to battle at least 50 flies in the house. Cell service is nonexistent and the wifi is quite spotty due to sharing it with the other cabin. The downstairs bed is awfully uncomfortable, we slept on the couch the last night. If there are fish in that river, both us and the neighbors are the worst fishermen ever. Also would encourage everyone to really check the TVA website, they ran generators from 3 to 7 daily and the water rose 4 feet quite quickly. If you're a poc and are uncomfortable with people staring, I wouldn't suggest visiting the town of Murphy. Overall the property is beautiful and has everything you could need to enjoy a glamping sort of experience. We kayaked up the river and enjoyed nature and saw multiple deer and turkey in the field next door. If you are in search of things to do outside of the casino you'll need to travel a bit. Also another warning .. if you decide to visit Hiwassiee Dam Joe Brown road is about an hour and a half circle where you'll have zero cell service. I would recommend this property if you want a beautiful place to sleep at night and a plan to visit neighboring Blue Ridge Mountains.

A beautifully appointed cabin with all the amenities
Cabin description was spot on and we truly enjoyed our stay.. A word of warning for those addicted to their phone's.. they work part of the time when your lucky enough to get 'a' bar. The dirt road (mountain trail) was quite the surprise.. and meeting an oncoming car was truly a nightmare.. Neighbors were nice. Early morning deer in the field, rabbits, foxes, and racoons so you can commune with nature.. did see one bald eagle. All in all, everything was great except for the ingress/egress to the cabin.

Perfection off the beaten path
We wanted to stay somewhere to disconnect from reality and just spend quality time as a family. This cabin delivered everything we expected and so much more. It rained almost the entire time we were there so we spent a lot of time just hanging out on the porch. The dirt road leading to the cabin was a little rough but my truck made it with no problems. The WiFi was not the best but we went to leave everything behind. Lol We will absolutely be booking again.

Close to River
PROS: Close to the water Private Nice home, fully stocked kitchen Comfortable beds TV, with satellite CONS: You have to make your bed when you arrive. After traveling to get there, and unloading, we found out we had to make our beds. You have to wash the linens before you leave. This delayed us leaving in the morning. I've stayed at numerous vacation rentals and never had to deal with linens in this fashion. I wish it had been disclosed up front. The internet is intermittent. Parking is about 50 to 100 ft from the cabin (depending on which one you are in). However, they do have a cart to make loading much easier.
