This was a last minute, desperate booking for us, as our previous hotel cancelled on us. The only great thing about this place was the location. Close to everything and to subway stations. Do not let the pics of the cute lobby fool you. The room was bleak. Grey walls, old carpet, no amenities or storage. They were trying to go for industrial/modern but it was just sad. The shower took over 10 mins to get hot. Though we booked a queen, the bed was full size, a single mattress on a metal frame that squeaked. The towels were old and thin. It was musty and barely clean enough to pass. It was hard to come back to the room after a fun day out. It will continue to stay booked and charge what ever they want just because of the location.

Good place if you have a packed NYC itinerary
If you are planning a visit to NYC and just want a nice bed and a shower, the OYO Times Square does very nicely. It is right in the middle of Midtown and within walking distance from many attractions, the Broadway theaters, and subway stations. The rooms are small but the beds were very comfortable and surprisingly quiet; heard the elevator more than the city outside. I did stay in early October 2024 with the place still under renovation; give it a few months and it should be really nice. The staff is helpful and friendly with a nice, trendy lobby area. What really makes the place neat is it houses the Serendipity 3 Times Square diner that recently opened with food and deserts that must be shared in groups, but a nice bar as well if you just want a drink, plus it has an Andy Warhol inspired decor. There is also a Dunkin' across the street to grab a little breakfast as well as the Long Acre pub for good food, drink, and several TVs for watching sports.

The OVO hotel failed to honor a reservation that was booked and fully paid for in advance through Expedia. Expedia cannot continue partnering with hotels that do not uphold their reservations.

The area was unsafe and the staff were unfriendly. There were two small elevators and they were always packed and I had to wait a lot to get in. The rooms were pretty small and you could hear everything. The mattress was quite uncomfortable.

I recently stayed at an OYO hotel and had a satisfactory experience. The check-in process was smooth and the staff were courteous. The room was clean and equipped with basic amenities. However, there were a few areas that could use improvement, such as the Wi-Fi connectivity and the variety of breakfast options. Overall, it was a decent stay for the price paid.

Fantastic location near subways and literally steps from Times Square. Staff was incredible--very helpful and any special requests were handled within minutes. The only (VERY) small drawbacks are the tiny elevators(3 people with luggage max) and, like most NYC hotels, there's no mini fridge. However, the OYO doesn't have any ice machines/buckets, so keeping any drinks or leftovers cool is difficult. We loved our stay here and would definitely stay here again!

Right in the heart of time square
Stayed here after a 305 mile 4 day multisport event from lake placid to New York City. Wanted close to time square and you can’t get much closer than here. Loved the feel of the hotel and the public areas were clean and well maintained. They have a nice little bar/restaurant in the lobby that served a great pizza burger. The room I was in had only a view of a walk but I wasn’t there to sit looking out of my window hahaha. One small criticism was the bed was extremely squeaky, I mean extremely squeaky. Getting up off of it sounded like a scene from a horror movie played in Dolby surround sound. All in all a nice hotel in a great spot

The OYO staff went above and beyond to ensure a five star guest experience. I stayed there with my wife and 2 toddlers. It was amazing and we loved it. You are literally footsteps from Times Square. At all times we felt safe and comfortable

Honestly. It was a catfish. Windows weren’t sealed at all so we could hear everything very well outside. I doing think they cleaned just judging by the old water stains on the bathroom floor. Just overall not a great hotel for the price.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived six hours prior to check-in and there were no problems with them holding our bag in storage. The hotel is only half a block from Times Square, so we knew it would be noisy, and it was. It is relatively close to Central Park and the subway system so it is a great place to stay. Room was small, but we knew it would be.Would stay there again.
