My daughter, who was traveling across the country on her way home from college, could not find her ID and they turned her away to sleep in her car. She had other forms of ID, including multiple credit cards and other cards. They also refused a refund.

My daughter who is driving home across the country from college was not allowed to check in because she could not find her Drivers license. The room was paid for in advance. She had credit cards and other id. She was turned away and forced to sleep in her car in Rapid City. I demand my money refunded.

When I booked the room through Travelocity, the description says there was breakfast included, hence one of the reasons we booked this room. Breakfast is very minimal; cold cereal, instant oatmeal, juice, frozen muffin sandwiches….not ideal. I also found out after booking that there was an extra $10 fee per night because it was booked through a third party. Not particularly happy with this outdated property and the description that doesn’t fit much into what’s listed online. I found out these details when I received an email from the hotel after booking, when it was not able to be cancelled.

The building is old and not well kept. When we got to our room there was a stain on the sheets and the mini refrigerator smelled terrible with instructions to plug it in. Our kids did enjoy the pool, but we will not be staying here again

The windows literally whistled all night long when the wind blew. The air conditioning sounded like a diesel engine and was woefully undersized for the room, and it wasn’t running when we checked in, during a 92 degree day!! Took nearly 8 hours to cool down. “Breakfast” is misleading, it’s bagels or toast. One desk clerk was entirely unwelcoming, another made us wait 4-5 minutes so she could continue a call about the area attractions. I think the caller should have been put on hold when we (and 2 other guests) were waiting to check in.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was central to most things around Rapid City. The kind room we had was spacious and clean, but a little outdated. The only negative, no elevator. Wife and I are both in mid and upper sixties with bad knees.

Overall our stay at the property was very nice. The gal at the front desk was very sweet and friendly. It was really great that they had someone on the overnight shift as we did not arrive until almost midnight. Do wish they had a bit more for breakfast but it was better than nothing.

Was a decent stay overall. Not happy about the $10 extra fee. Shower head was broken and water slowly drained in tub. Was disgusting. Hair all folded in the sheets. Noticed a list of charges they will nickel and dime you on but have no problem not fixing basic amenities for each room. Glad I stayed for just one night.

Fine but not great.
This place had good reviews so I was surprised when we arrived and found it mostly run down. The AC unit in our room was older and louder and when we turned on the heat it smelled like burning. The beds were ok, the sink and toilet were very low and small. The woman who checked us in was very friendly, the woman at the desk during breakfast was curt. The pool area looked really nice although we didn’t use it. Breakfast was fine - bagels, and cereal, and a microwaveable breakfast sandwich upon request.
