"The hotel on the outside looks very outdated and run down, when you enter the building there is an old “nursing home” smell. The walls and ceilings inside the room still have that old popcorn texture so it still has that outdated feel, however the furniture appliances and bathroom are updated nicely and very clean. The check-in staff was very not welcoming, but avoided eye-contact, demanding and not pleasant. After check in a lady stopped us and was trying to get us to sign up to come to some 1-hour presentation which was pretty annoying. I mean come on… you verbalized that we seemed rushed because we are only staying for 1 night… but you continue to hold us back and trying to get us to waste even more time to listen to come presentation… if you see that guests are not interested, just let them go. The breakfast was not good at all. Eggs taste like plastic, coffee is watered down. I was thankful for at least descent biscuits, pancakes and apples. The ladies hosting breakfast were very pleasant, and checkout was fast and simple, thank you! Overall the clean room made it worth the stay but there’s a lot this hotel needs to work on. "

"Had a great weekend stay at the Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head! The staff was friendly and the renovated guest rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable! Even with the resort under construction, nothing was off limits and the beach access was incredible. Would recommend, and just a note that first floor rooms tend to be for pets. This was not a problem for us but might be for future guests so if it is, book a higher floor!"

"Beautiful hotel with lots to offer. All of the staff are very friendly. The towel service is a nice amenity. The breakfast buffet in the Carolina room was a great way to start the day. Had lunches poolside or at the outdoor restaurant. The beach was very nice but not managed by the hotel. Be prepared to spend $46 for chairs and an umbrella every day or bring your own. Overall a quick 2 night getaway - had a great time "
