I really enjoy my stay in The Cova, staff was amazing and super friendly, complementary wine was such a surprise and also Breakfast I blew me away. I know I stayed during a very difficult time for the city of SF where everything was shut down, but I must say I felt safe in the hotel, and the hotel provided us with hand sanitizer and it was great. Only thing it was the homeless situation smoking outside but I understand that out of their hands to stop it. Over all I really enjoyed it.

During the virus epidemic it was so nice to have this place to stay at while my son received a surgical procedure. I would love to come back when things are normal!

I enjoyed that the shuttle was available for people like us that had no idea how to get around. We enjoyed the breakfast variety, taste. The only thing that was difficult is parking and that there is a high homeless population. It was extremely scary to walk anywhere.

The hotel was clean and desk staff we worked with were very friendly. There is convenient valet parking on the property. Beats trying to figure out parking in the city if you have your own vehicle. The "balcony" that was advertised was a joke. We had a sliding glass door that opened to railing. There was no actual balcony. We had a view of the transients all over the street. This hotel has no air conditioner or heating system. Thankfully it wasn't hot during our stay, the little fan they provided was sufficient. The bed was extremely uncomfortable to me. The mattress was VERY firm. The location is awful. Smack dab in the middle of the tenderloin. The complimentary breakfast was in a nice little room with plenty of table and chairs. Don't expect bacon and eggs type breakfast. It's hard boiled eggs, pastries, cereal, etc. It was nice though. Overall, our one night stay was good for the price, but I'm not sure I will be coming back. The super hard mattresses and the scary homeless people just outside the hotel were the deal breaker for me.

Staff are friendly. Hotel is clean. Breakfast begins 6:30am. Basic but coffee and fruits were enough for me. Location is about 10 mins walk from civic center train station. There are many homeless people. I have been told by locals to just keep my head down and power walk through them. I ended up calling Uber instead of walking to train stations near by (a 7 mins walk) because it's just heartbreaking to see so many homeless people.

Great room, parking is a scam
Great room, parking is a scam, 30 overnight, 5.00 more for oversized vehicles, 5.00 more if you want to come in and out...everyone that was standing in line complained about what a scam it was...

Good stay: review with pros and cons list
Overall this was an absolutely wonderful stay, and definitely fit for the price. I listed my pros and cons below: Pros: 1.) Walking distance from some really good restaurants like Pho 2000, Lers Ros, and Brenda's. 2.) About a 10 minute walk from Union Square, where you can catch the cable car down to the pier. 3.) COMPLIMENTARY WINE. From 5-7 guests get FREE WINE at the rooftop bar. AS MANY GLASSES AS YOU WANT. It is not expensive wine, but it is TASTY and FREE and BOTTOMLESS. 4.) Staff are really nice. The person at the front desk listed off a bunch of different places to explore and try new foods. They also were really helpful with navigating events and traffic patterns for us. 5.) Rooftop bar and patio: we really enjoyed being able to look at the city in a chill, romantic environment. This was probably our favorite part of the hotel. 6.) Complimentary breakfast. At other hotels I've been at, complemtary breakfasts usually amount to just some muffins and pastries. This breakfast station had quite a bit to choose from. Cons: 1.) It is in a great location to walk and/or hop on public transit, but it is not in the safest neighborhood. We stuck with Uber once it was night time. 2.) No room service, but they do have a partnership with a different business that delivers food. We ended up not trying it, so I can't say much about it. 3.) Shuttle service sometimes did not run when the schedule said it was supposed to. Overall--very satisfied.

I love the location, it is walkable to San Francisco City and thus Bill Graham Auditorium And Davies Music Hall. The rooftop balcony had a great view of the city. We happened to stay during fleet week, so we got to see the blue angels perform over the city. Everyone was very friendly. The valet parking was convenient. It is in San Francisco and there are homeless people around. They in no way bothered me or my wife, but if you are scared of homeless people or cities, maybe don’t stay in San Francisco.

Great for singles or couples!
I arrived late at night and the staff was super nice and offered me a bottle of wine for free. Plus, they ordered me dinner from a local Italian restaurant. So the first impression was perfect. This is more of a place for one or two people to stay. I wouldn’t recommend for a family with kids.
