Good points: staff was very nice and friendly. The bed was very comfortable. Everything (shower, air conditioner, TV, refrigerator, microwave, ice machine, swimming pool) worked. Great location right across from the boardwalk and only blocks from the amusement park. And the swimming pool, though small, was very nice.
Cons: I have never before stayed in a building that felt structurally unsound, but this one did. We were on the third (no elevator) floor. The stairs themselves were solid, but some of the metal railings were held in place with hose clamps. And the floors, which were probably originally concrete, had been covered by what felt like plywood sheets covered in fiberglass and painted grey. In some spots the flooring felt hollow or spongy when you stepped on it. The door to our room was rotted and split, and had been bolted back together. The dead bolt didn't work, and the door knob lock looked like it could be defeated with a plastic butter knife. We were never sure that it was actually locked. There wasn't a level surface in our room, and when the people next door started moving furniture around it felt like the whole building was shaking. Other than that there were no lights aside from the ceiling lights, so it was pretty dark in the room. There was literally no place to hang anything. No closet area, no wall hooks, nothing. And the shower curtain rod was only attached (loosely) to the wall on one end, so that wasn't going to hold anything.
