When I arrived to check in the front door said it was temporarily closed. No where online did it say that it was closed and the free cancellation wasn’t available. No one answered the phone so I could figure out how to get my refund. I was beyond pissed since I don’t live in Iowa I had to find a different hotel. I finally got in contact with someone to get my refund that will take 7-10 business days. This is not okay and they should have something online stating they are temporarily closed so that people don’t pay for a hotel and get there and have to figure out what to do next.

I’ve stayed here before. It’s okay and priced fairly for what it is. However this property is temporarily shut down. I would think that they would have removed themselves or notified the appropriate businesses before allowing people to book online. If you have rooms booked. Email Aj@tapsmgt.com for more info.

Riverside Plaza hotel was awful! They are in the midst of remodeling the entire place (which is totally fine and I'm sure it'll be great in the future-hopefully). The place was had drywall dust and glass on all the floors/elevators and in the vending machines. Not to mention the 5:30am wake up from power tools and hammering on the 3rd floor (we were on the 4th floor). Not even a pillow over my head would cover up the noise. I am still unsure why guests were even allowed with all that chaos.

It was under extreme renovations. No pool or hot tub. They accommodated with lower price point. The two ladies that checked us in were wonderful and amazing.

The beds were great and the price was low. The property is obviously being upgraded, but our room and hallway was untouched so far. It looks like there will be good improvements made soon.

I was very disappointed in the hotel. When booking, there was no mention the hotel was being renovated. Could hear pounding in the morning. Pool and hot tub were closed - no mention of that. The on-site restaurant was closed also, which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. Room was fine, but small. Pictures are very deceiving.
