Not quite enough nice for price.
A nice hotel with lots to see within a few minutes walk but overall, just a bit pricey for what you get. We paid $460 a night ($600 plus Cdn) for a nice stay, but simply not worth anything close to that. Service was excellent and room was good, but not great. Shower pressure was weak and very uncomfortable for anyone over about six feet.

This hotel is so incredibly charming. It has the look of an old school ski lodge but is very updated. It plays up the nostalgia factor (vhs tapes and 80s era jackets hanging on the walls) while having whatever modern amenities you could hope for (appletv and usb ports). I would love to stay here again and again and bring friends.

Such a unique themed restaurant with inviting common spaces. We loved the Apres Only lounge area, as well as the multiple spaces by the fire. The interiors of our rooms were well decorated.

The property and lodge were beautiful. The breakfast was unique and very good. The room was comfortable, nicely decorated and clean. I like having coffee in my room, but that wasn't provided. We also couldn't figure out how to set the clock to the proper time, but those are both minor inconveniences. Overall a nice place to stay, but perhaps a bit pricey when we compared comparable properties.

This Lodge was ok. Literally "just ok". The location is great and staffs are fine too. But, this place is definitely OVERPRICED. We paid almost $400 for the very small room. Plus, the Room is so small and you can definitely hear any noises from other people. We did not even have breakfast because it is a poor quality. And they charged me extra "Stowe marketing fee $2.75" next day.

We wanted a unique place to stay that had a lodge or inn like feel and not a big chain hotel. This fit the bill. The location is ideal. It is a short 1/4 mile walk to the Main Street down a sidewalk and across a covered pedestrian bridge. There are restaurants directly across the street from the inn or on Main Street. There are others nearby if you have a vehicle. There are beautiful views of the mountains no matter where you are in town. Ski, snowboard and other outdoor rentals are also close. There is a wonderful 5 mile path that you can access across the street from the inn and it meanders through the town. There are hiking trails on the mountain directly behind the inn too. There are many hiking trails and waterfalls all over the Stowe area. There is plenty of parking in front of the inn and on the backside of the inn. All of the parking is very close to an entrance. The backside of the inn has chairs for sitting outside and a fire pit that is often burning. Unfortunately it rained a lot while we were there so we didn’t get to use it as much. There is also a large covered side deck that has corn hole and plenty of tables for sitting, eating or playing other games. The lobby, bar and eating area on the first floor are hip, trendy, calming, decorated with an outdoor, natural vibe and includes some fun snow skiing items too. Stowe itself was wonderful—a refuge from the hustle and bustle. The Field Guide Lodge (FGL) was our refuge within the refuge. The FGL felt like home with all of the amenities and fantastic views of the foliage from our room. The fireplace warmed us at night. The freestanding tub provided refreshment and revitalization from our outings. The king size bed and blackout curtains provided peaceful rest. Our suite made it feel is though we were apart from the rest of society able to focus on each other and our adventure—free from distraction. That stated, we were within easy walking distance of anything we wanted to do in Stowe. I cannot praise the FGL enough.

Check in and check out was quick, easy and Lexi and was personable at check in and the woman at check out was very nice too (sorry I did not get her name). There are so many different areas to sit within the hotel to hang out and it has a very comfortable, homey feel. The fire pit was great to sit by. My only minor complaint was the bathroom door stuck and it was quite difficult to get out, but I’m sure an easy fix. The bar area was nice too, and they did have corn hole set up.
