The decor of the spa suite was very traditional with extreme pops of 60s 70s cabin farm house style but it did not seem old in need of repair …infact it was in great condition and even the wood bed frame was solid 70s design and the whole layout made you feel like you were really on a home away from home. The jacuzzi tub in spa suite made the room romantic and the tv and boulder rock fireplace in view felt like farm house with luxury hotel feeling but without any hotel vibes…highly recommend for couples

Don’t unpack, there is nowhere to put your things.
Fair price. Clean enough. There used to be a closet, but the fridge and micro was in there so there was nowhere to hang clothes. Not even a hook on the wall. There was no dresser to put clothes in either. (There were tiny bed side tables where I could have put my socks.) I like to unpack and keep my room tidy and that wasn’t possible. Also nowhere in the bathroom to put my toiletries.

Everyone was really friendly. The room was clean. I enjoyed the spa and fireplace in the room. The area around the lodge was nice, lots of shopping and dining.

Cabins were great, older but with great heating, big screen t.v., fireplace, kitchen and great shower. Little bit of noise from adjoining cabins.

Where do I begin to give this place a 0 rating? We paid for a king suite, and the pictures show a jacuzzi in the room. We arrived, and they put us into a suite with one queen bed. The small couch had dog hair all over. The carpet was not vacuumed. The blanket had stains on it. I went back to the office to politely tell them that they gave me the wrong room and that my husband and I need a king. He lied and told me that I booked a queen. He was very sarcastic and told me to contact Expedia to cancel my reservation if that’s what I wanted to do. He made it seem like I would have an issue paying for a better room when I booked a king suite, to begin with. He said the jacuzzi room had been sold out for weeks. He said if you want two queen beds, it’ll be an extra $55… I declined his offer because I already paid for that. I asked for a clean blanket, and two hours later, they finally brought one. The walls are so thin in the room that you can hear people walking, and the slightest movement shakes the room. The heater makes very loud noises. My husband was so grossed out by the couch he slept on the floor. Mind you, it’s winter and it’s cold. I slept on the queen bed, and I was freezing all night because the heater did not reach the entire suite. I can write a novel. Ultimately, I would be somewhat calm if the staff were friendly. Oh, and their pet fees are $60 per dog. You should clean your rooms before charging $60 pet fee with someone else’s dog hair on couches.

Early ski season multi-weekday trip
Good location; walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, and rentals. Dated rooms. Front office service rather unwelcoming and unhelpful. Only worth the price if considerably less than similar properties.

The property is very very outdated with all the landscaping dead and inside the family chalet was also very not up to date with cracking floors, needs major remodeling, poor shower and tub, walls need new wallpaper or paint, too many problems to list and was overcharged in price for the this run down lodge/cabin, place looks like it came straight from a horror movie. Highly not recommended for families!!!

The place was old, dirty and infested with rats. Horrible place. They charged us $125 extra for a double room that was advertised at no additional cost on our booking. We can hopefully get a refund for our $125. I would not recommend this place to anyone

We had thought we were getting a room with an automatic fireplace, instead we got a wood burning fireplace. It was nice, but we had to buy the wood and I couldn’t handle the smoke smell in the room. Otherwise, adorable room.

Alright, Disappointing Breakfast
TL;DR: Average room, non-existent Continental breakfast, decent location, affordable price. Overall, it was okay. Traveled to Big Bear for a weekend trip with my gf. The first night, the shower has no hot water, even after running for a few minutes. There was no table in the room and no set-aside closet, but since it was a short trip, it was bearable. The heater in the room worked thankfully. Like other reviews have noted, the walls are thin so you can hear other guests. The listing on the hotel states that there is a hot tub and pool. The pool was closed given that it was winter. The hot tub was small and didn't looked very appealing. We didn't try it. The main gripe I had was the Continental breakfast. It says that breakfast was provided which is one of the reasons why we ended up staying here. In short, there is effectively NO breakfast, more like a few snacks. There was no hot food, only a few small prepackaged muffins, hard-boiled eggs, and some coffee. Oddly, given the poor selection, the breakfast hours are still restricted to 8-10 am. We decided to instead go to a local cafe (I strongly recommend just not bothering with the breakfast or at least know what you're getting which isn't much).
