Horrible Check-In Experience
I surprised my husband for his birthday and booked us a King room with a hot tub this weekend. After checking in at reception we dragged our bags down to room 112 only to find that our key card didn’t work. I stayed behind with our bags while my husband walked up the two flights of stairs and across the property to the reception desk again. Staff told him to pull on the door before trying the key card again. He walked all the way back and the key card still didn’t work. Both of us lugged all our bags back up to reception again and they gave us new key cards. We were excited when they worked (third time’s a charm) but were immediately disappointed to find that housekeeping hadn’t cleaned the room after the previous guests (no bedding, towels on the floor, trash in the bathroom). We walked back to reception (4th time) and they told us it was going to be a while before they could clean our room so we should go do something else for a couple of hours and come back later. So we left the property feeling disregarded and upset.
When we checked out the next morning, the staff at the desk said their manager wasn’t on site so we couldn’t share our experience until the manager called us (which she did later that morning). She said she will discount our stay - we really hope that’s true! It was a disappointing birthday - we used to love coming to the Carson Hot Springs!
