Great hotel for the town - some historic buildings and more being renovated. Some good food options in the vicinity. Noisy with the cars in the car park opposite the back ally, and from the train at night. Single glazing for a European is a bit last century even in old hotels these days…

We've stayed at the El Capitan several times. Even with the ownership change, the hotel has maintained good service. The in-room coffee, however, is not good. The hotel should consider returning to the pour-over used prior to the Counter Culture "coffee bags." Also, the breakfast prices in Native Son should be evaluated. We usually stay in one of the one bedroom suites and we always enjoy our stay. The housekeeping crew is great.
