This property is something special. The location and views are amazing. The service upon arrival and a few of the mistakes made while we were there, left more to be desired for the nightly cost of the stay. No one was really available to help us unload the car or help bring our things to the room. They charge a resort fee just to go to the swimming pool, which we did not go to during chilly days in October. Parking is $45 per night for self parking in an open garage. They don't have coffee available for guests in the morning anywhere. Not for purchase beyond the instant coffee in the rooms or going across the street to Starbucks. The rooms have a public beach access staircase in front of the rooms which can get noisy at times - even in the middle of the night if there are people staying out and about. Overall, this place has some kinks to work out, but we will absolutely return. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and Laguna is a special place for us - just wish it had been a bit smoother upon arrival and that the extra charges hadn't been mistakenly charged on my card by the front desk. Had to visit them and get that removed.

I had a great time staying at Casa Loma Beach Hotel. Location of the hotel is amazing, just by the ocean and you can easily walk to the ocean. Hotel is close to all famous dining areas in Laguna Beach. Staff were all so friendly and professional. Hotel is recently renovated and looks gorgeous.

I would like to say only good things about our stay at Casa Loma, as the location is wonderful as is the hotel itself. However, the website is very misleading. The first two nights of our stay we were provided with the nightly cocktail and morning coffee. On the third day these items were abruptly stopped, although still mentioned on their website. There was also a huge discrepancy between what we paid for our room through Expedia and our friends paid directly through the hotel. Staff was lovely, although seemed to have little experience and couldn’t really answer questions we had regarding both to the area as well as the hotel. I understand they have just reopened so these seem to be growing pains, but did cause some aggravation, especially for the price we paid. As I said, the hotel itself is perfect, the rooms are thoughtfully decorated and well equipped, as is the hotel and outdoor space.

I had a beach view balcony room. Went to sleep to the sound of the waves of the ocean!!!! Clean hotel with modern amenities with an old school twist. Hotel room phone was a rotary phone.

Very expensive ($700 Canadian) for a room that was at pool level. Needed to keep the curtains pulled at all times and there was no access to the pool from the room. Was told that the photo in their website shows this but it wasn’t clear to me. Also the air conditioning was incredibly loud. It’s clearly a very old system so I understand but it turned on and off at will so it was difficult to have a proper sleep. One of the loudest I have experienced..

Hotel location and views are perfect! Everything is within walking distance. Laguna beach has a free trolly service, with a bus stop right around the corner from the hotel. Free wine served at 5-6pm and cookie at 6-7pm. Negatives: Hotel walls are very thin.
