It was not clear when I paid for and booked an ocean view room that it was at the lobby level, looking at the slip wall and the pool of water in front of the bay rather than the ocean. There was a lot of bird poo in the patio area that was a little gross., Also, a couple of hotel bikes didn't shift properly and the 2-hour limit wasn't helpful for actually using the bikes to get places and explore.

Improve Check-In
The hotel is in a great location, lots of complimentary amenities…Even though my stay was only for one night, I arrived a bit early around 2pm. Upon checking in, I was told my room wouldn’t be ready until closer to 3:30pm (check-in is 4pm). I just wanted to be able to use the pool while I waited for my room to be ready, but the man who checked me in seemed a bit put off since I didn’t have a key card yet and he would have to let me in. So instead, he told me I could go use the complimentary bikes and take a ride down to the pier or have a drink from their self pour area. Some of the options didn’t work, so I ended up just having sparkling wine. Around 4pm, I still didn’t receive a text/call and was told by another front desk employee that room will be ready soon. So I went to do a quick bike ride down the pier. Came back around 4:35pm, and waited in line to check in finally. Still never got a call/text. I wasn’t able to get into my room until around 5pm! At that point, I just wanted to shower and enjoy the sunset. No point in using the pool as the sun went down at 6:15pm.…granted it was a busy Saturday and I was only able to stay one night, I still feel very disappointed in the whole checking in process.

You pay for everything
The hotel & marina was nice. The room was comfortable. The view of the seals & pacific ocean was beautiful. But, you have to pay for everything, such as parking, either valet or by the day, its $40. No free breakfast, though it opened early for the guests, you still needed to pay. About $15 pp (No alcohol). Also, the hotel automatically charges for the lifestyle amenities, such as bikes, paddleboards, etc, even if you dont use them. This is why the overall score was 4 stars & not 5. Nice location, comfy rooms & service was excellent! Just be prepared to pay!

We did not receive our VIP amenity or upgrade. There was a reggae concert next door that was very loud in our room. Our balcony was 10 feet away from the valet parking. There is no full length mirror in the room and the bathroom is poorly lit. This was not a good value for the price we paid. We tried to get a glass of wine and a beer from the “Living Room” lobby bar and were told we would have better luck going to the restaurant across the street 😳

If you like ants all over your room, no room service, $40 dollar parking and multiple 9am wake up calls on not only your hotel phone but your guest phone over something as stupid as another guests toothbrush falling onto your balcony.. this place is for you. I’ve expressed my concerns with my stay with multiple staff members over the course of two days of my stay and I was quieted with a $100 dollar credit. Be very weary of this property..
